  • Spacious eco site 15 minutes' drive from Brighton and beaches
  • Café within 10 minutes' walk; pub and 24-hour shop within 20 minutes
  • Stunning views of hills, especially at sunrise and sunset
Set in 54 acres of spectacular South Downs chalk grassland, outrageously easy to get to (it’s an hour from London by train), and run on firmly green lines, Wolstonbury Dreaming has just a handful of spacious, remote pitches so you can relax in your own private outdoor space. Enjoy barbecues on open fires (buy locally sourced firewood on the site) while listening out for the skylarks and enjoying the spectacular views of Wolstonbury Hill and Newtimber Hill. Should you choose to venture off site, there’s a café within 10 minutes' walk of the site and a popular pub and a 24-hour shop in Pyecombe village within 20 minutes’ walk. Plenty of restaurants are within 15 minutes’ drive offering food and drinks. Off-grid, state-of-the-art compostable toilets and washing facilities are available for all, along with a back-to-basics, outdoor bucket shower. The farm provides certified clean drinking water from its own borehole, and runs on its own solar panels – so if you need to charge your phone and your battery bank has run out, there is a charging point in the barn.

What customers say

This spacious, dog-friendly campsite in the South Downs offers beautiful views and ample pitch space with fire pits. Guests praised the friendly, welcoming hosts and eco-friendly ethos. Facilities, including clean bucket showers and composting toilets, were generally well-regarded. While some found the location perfect for accessing Brighton and local walks, a few noted road noise from the A23 and occasional cold nights. One reviewer mentioned tricky road access for some vehicles.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked A beautiful rural site no thrills just a basic pay for what you get. The owners were very welcoming and took the time to explain how things worked and where everything was I loved the site and will be back there ASAP

Disliked The road is an old farm track with over hanging trees so take your time

Liked Wonderful site with a small number of large individual pitches that can accommodate multiple tents if needed.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked This was the best camping I’ve seen in England so far! Great pitches. Very good clean facilities. Maybe you’re not used to a bucket shower, but I can assure you that it is wonderfull after a long hot day. It is also nearby the beautiful Brighton. But above all very nice owners.

Disliked Nothing

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked The peace and tranquility are unrivaled, a beautiful spot to pitch up and relax.

For the bucket showers, you fill up your tub with hot water from the barn and enjoy a washdown in nature. The host informed me the water was drawn from the sites own borehole. All the waste water goes to watering the local plant and flowers.

The site is hidden away from the hustle and hustle up a lane, you barely notice the main road and all I could hear was the sheep in the next field. If you fancy it there's a nice pub within walking distance.

I cooked up my dinner every night and sat and enjoyed the stunning view, watched the moon rise in front of me and the amazing sunsets behind.

Disliked I honestly cannot say anything bad.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Each camping area has its own mowed out area making it feel really secluded and special. We also had our own fire pit and picnic table which was such a treat. We enjoyed the camp site on the Saturday and then went off into Brighton on the Sunday, it was so convenient getting the bus into the city, then got an Uber home in the evening.

A delicious cafe just a 5 minute walk down the hill too, where we had breakfast.

The amenities were great, and we felt very welcomed on arrival from the couple running the check in and then when leaving we met the owner who was lovely.

Already hoping to return!
