You’ll have a view of Wolstonbury Hill from Muddleswood Meadow – and that’s a sure hint that you’re in a good spot for a break in the South Downs National Park. An excellent spot, in fact – because as well as being close to lots of great walking and bike trails, this adults-only site on the edge of the national park has easy access from the A23 and is only about five minutes’ drive from the village of Hurstpierpoint, a historic place that gets a mention in the Doomsday Book and has some lovely shops and pubs to visit. A golf course, a vineyard, an outdoor activity centre and several attractive rural pubs are also within a few minutes’ drive. The vibe here is simple, authentic and comfortable – it’s a place to relax and unwind in an uncrowded and peaceful environment. Facilities have been kept to just the essentials: portable toilets, a hot shower, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point along with firepits for hire to help you create that classic campfire evening. You’re also welcome to bring a barbecue along for some outdoor cooking. Although kids are not permitted at this site, dogs are very welcome – you’ll just be asked to keep pets under control for the sake of the other guests and the local wildlife. Whether you’ve brought a four-legged pal or not, it’s easy to get out for a walk from here. A public footpath runs directly past the site, connecting you to miles of fabulous walks through the surrounding fields.

Liked Alan , Angela and Jazz couldn’t have been more helpful even lending us a heater as it was pretty chilly at night .

Disliked The local pub is walkable but the road is very busy . Ideally you need to drive or get a cab

Liked Staff/management were really friendly and welcoming. They’ve only been open a short time but, they had enough facilities for people that needed them.

Disliked It had all that I needed. A quiet area for some relaxed camping with nature walks around.
