What customers say
This campsite offers a peaceful, remote "wild camping" experience in a beautiful countryside location with stunning views and excellent access to walking trails, including the South Downs Way. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful host, Rachel, the spacious pitches, and the clean, well-maintained portaloos. While facilities are basic, many appreciate the tranquil atmosphere, opportunity for campfires, and dark skies for stargazing. Some note the bumpy access track and patchy mobile signal, but overall, guests highly recommend the site for a back-to-basics escape.

Great location. Toilets were very clean.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Amazing location feels like you are in the middle of know where. Love that you can pitch where ever you want. Rachel was a great host.

Loved it. Great escape from our crowded world.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely secluded field next to woods with nice views. At the bottom of the long lane is a great pub in a quinticential old English village. The owner Rachel was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The field is so large, there is plenty of space for everyone
Disliked The lane is best suited to mountain bikes as its quite stoney. The field is gentlely sloped so finding a perfect flat pitch can be a challenge. A 4x4 would be handy when the field is really wet.

The field the pitch is in…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The field the pitch is in has a great view. We met Rachael the estate manager. It was lovely to chat to her and she does a good job. We felt looked after.
The pub in the village is very good also. (if you can stomach doing the flint track to get to it)
Disliked The very long trail to get to the pitch is horrendous. Either by Driving / walking or cycling, If you cycle it , expect punctures, we picked up one. If you walk back form the pub at night you need a torch. It is a very rough flint trail track (Lots of big chunks) and very unpleasant to travel across. Apparently more work will take place over the coming year to improve it. Would I stay here again, with things as they are, currently no alas. If the track improved, I would consider staying again.

Used for Goodwood revival - perfect for a simple stay. 10/10
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The track to the field felt like an adventure in itself, bumpy but not unpleasant at all if you’re sensible, the field was well kept and pretty, the utilities were simple and effective, the atmosphere was peaceful, seeing livestock being moved around was a pleasant surprise, the host was kind, helpful and cheerful.
I use this site when I visit Goodwood circuit. It adds exactly the right amount of fun to the weekend. Off the beaten track so you have a little fun getting there (but aren’t risking anything). I’ll happily continue to visit here.
Located very close by to the circuit with a pleasant drive to and from there.
As with anywhere, if you respect the surroundings you’ll have a better experience
Camped in a T6 VW Transporter
Disliked The toilet unit by the tap was on a slight slant (cannot think of any other issues)
Potentially not ideal for a slammed car with no clearance
