  • Sheltered rural Surrey site with fishing lake a mile from East Horsley
  • RHS Wisley and Chessington World of Adventures within 20 mins' drive
  • Member price shown; non-members select £10/night extra
Head into London on the train or hang out by the lake on site? Those are just a couple of the options available for guests at Horsley Camping and Caravanning Club Site, tucked away at the end of a quiet lane in the Surrey countryside but only a mile from East Horsley, a village with a railway station for service to the capital. The lake is a real highlight at this site – it’s a place where you can go fishing or just sit back and watch the wildlife that it attracts (keep quiet and you may spot deer, rabbits and foxes as well as ducks). For a few more rural moments, stroll around the site’s woodland areas, take your dog for a bit of exercise in the dog walk area or plan longer walks in the surrounding area – this site is just outside the Surrey Hills National Landscape so there are lots of great trails nearby including the excellent North Downs Way. This well-sheltered site is managed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, with both members and non-members welcome. Members benefit from a reduced rate, so just make sure you select the correct membership option on your booking. As you’d expect from a Club site, there’s a range of high-quality facilities including a play area, a recreation room (with seating and games to play), a shop, a washing-up area, a launderette, a chemical disposal point, wifi and clean, modern bathrooms. You’re welcome to bring a barbecue along to cook your dinner, or you could wander into East Horsley for a meal in its Italian restaurant or gastropub.

What customers say

This is a clean, peaceful, and well-maintained campsite with friendly and helpful staff. Guests praise the beautiful lake and surrounding woodland, as well as the good facilities and spacious pitches. Some visitors experienced issues with the Wi-Fi, finding it unreliable and slow. Minor concerns were also raised about tree cutting noise, sharp spikes in wood chip areas, and unmarked speed humps on the approach road. Some guests found the site to be expensive.
