Non-electric forest floor motorhome pitch (woodland)
Liked Nice facilities with close water and washing up facilities. Lovely river for paddle boarding and a big grassy space for kids to play in. Nice cafe on site that did good coffee and breakfast.
Disliked Worth noting that if like us, you thought the images of pitches by the water were by the river, they are not. They are next to a pond. The Cafe also overlooks a grass field and the pond. The river is accessed through the gate in the car park and is not actually visible from the campsite.
There are limited spots for campervans which meant we were unable to camp as a group with campervans and tents together. Partly due to our late booking but I’m not sure it would be possible anyway as they did not allow vehicles on the field other than to unload.

Non-electric forest floor motorhome pitch (woodland)
Liked Nice and quiet pitch in the forest and near the River Medway. The site is close to a CoOp petrol stn and supermarket, pub and curry house in walking distance. the owner talked me through the procedures, gave me the codes and all was good.
Disliked Nothing, all was fine and dandy.

Perfect little site
Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Everything.
Stayed here a couple of years ago. It’s still as beautiful as I remember. Did miss the little pop up bar though. We’ll be back next season :) only criticism I have is why did I have to book a motor home pitch to car camping? Others had their car parked next to their pitch on the field. Didn’t use electric as we have our own power system. Shouldn’t really have to pay more to sleep in my car
Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback and we are thrilled that you loved the site just as much as before. As we have taken on the watersports offerings this year we had to pause the pop up bar for now, but it's not to say it wont be back in the future.
Your booking shows a grass field pitch, but from what I understand you then upgraded on arrival to the lakeside pitch giving you the decking area as well?
We hope to see you again soon.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)
Liked Easy to find. Close to a river. Easy to hire kayaks. Modern toilets. Close to a shop to buy any food. Nice cafe. Nice pond
Disliked You can hear car noises from a motorway. The pitch I booked based on pictures provided was a complete disappointment. The pitch I thought I booked was taken by other people and mine was just a tent size spot by forest road with other tents right next to it and without any additional place for doing any camping things. But we were offers to move to the field - which we did.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are pleased you liked the location and facilities available to you.
We are a little confused about your comments regarding your woodland pitch. We have 6 woodland tent pitches that are all numbered. We do not allocate these in advance, but they are issued on a first come first served basis. We are therefore unsure how you felt that the pitch you booked was taken by other campers? If someone has a specific request like being close to the water we will try our best to accommodate, but we can not guarantee. From looking at your booking it seemed your only request was a pitch on your own which all of our woodland pitches are and marked out as such.
We will always try and accommodate as best we can and we are pleased you were happy with a move to a field pitch instead.
We hope to see you again soon.
Great place to stay a little bit different
Non-electric forest floor motorhome pitch (woodland)
Liked That you camp in a woodland rather than just a square field Made the stay more enjoyable Good cafe on site & easy access to river & walks
All very pleasant
Disliked Payable for a shower which where ok
No dog waste bins Or any bins which we were aware of Not sure how you would cope with a weeks worth of rubbish

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased you enjoyed your woodland pitch. We will also pass on your kind words to the cafe.
Our booking information does state that we do not currently have facilities for campers to leave their rubbish, but we have made arrangements for next year. We do have two bins available for dog waste. Apologies if this was not made clear to you.
We look forward to seeing you again soon if your travels bring you this way.
A lovely relaxing stay.
Non-electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch (lake view)
Liked Superb site. We had a view straight onto the lake with our own decking. Toilets and showers on site were very clean with an old horse box having been creatively constructed into a toilet and shower block. Very pretty. Staff were lovely and the cafe served great food. Launched straight onto the river for a day paddle boarding with equipment for hire for those who don’t have their own. A little gem.
Disliked Nothing to dislike, the site makes it clear there are no toilet waste facilities, electric hook up or hot water (save for the showers) so you just need to come prepared.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)
Liked Outdoor activities, clean toilets, friendly staff
Disliked Maybe clear the pond, but that doesn't change much would just make the pond you nicer

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed the activities and found the site clean and tidy. All of our team work hard to make your stay as lovely as possible so we are glad you found them friendly.
The lake has been a labour of love this year with the extreme hot weather over such a long period of time it has been impossible to clear the duck weed quicker than it is growing. However, we have maintained it in such a way that the fish and wildlife have thrived through the extreme temperatures.
Thank you again for the review and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Non-electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch (lake view)
Liked We had a lovely spot by the lake with our own decking. Even after being there only a couple of hours, felt like we’d been there ages. Very peaceful and relaxing. Ideal location right on the Medway Valley river walk. We walked our dog one way in the morning, and the other way in the afternoon. The on site cafe is very good. Good menu with reasonable prices. The evening was idyllic…sitting on our reclining chairs by the lake with our lights on with a bottle of wine.
Think we will be returning often, as we were looking for a site in reasonable distance for frequent weekends away.
