The touring field

General

  • Peaceful site for over-16s in a secluded and natural setting
  • Five minutes’ drive to Kent’s coast and 10-minute walk to New Romney
  • A 10-minute drive to Dungeness National Nature Reserve

If the thought of a peaceful hol with excellent access to town amenities is trickling through your mind, make your idea a reality with a stint amid the trees and grassland fields of Running Waters Holiday Park.

The secluded site may feel like it’s deep in the countryside, but it’s just a 10-minute walk from New Romney’s pubs, bars and restaurants, and is a smart choice if being close to the coast is key; some of Kent’s finest stretches of seaside, including the gorgeous Greatstone beach, are within five minutes’ drive.

After indulging in days by the English Channel, meander along one of the multiple footpaths leading from the site or dawdle down the Dungeness National Nature Reserve’s trail (10 minutes), a wildfowl-filled conservation area set on a shingle spit.

Relaxing is of course on the agenda while touring outside the park, but the grounds are also a pretty place for a rest in spacious greenery. The site’s a simple sort of spot yet has the amenities you need for a happy hol, including separate ladies and gents' toilets, a shower block, washing-up facilities with cold water and a chemical disposal unit.

Running Waters welcomes families with older kids but small sorts under 16 years, along with dogs and other pets, are not permitted. Barbecues are allowed (when raised off the ground), so grub can be grilled for dinner when you’re not eating out in New Romney.

Please note

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

The washing-up area is not in operation due to restrictions imposed by the coronavirus outbreak.

Guests under the age of 16 are not allowed on site.

Coronavirus update: The shower/toilet block is open but guests are encouraged to use their own facilities wherever possible. Only one person will be allowed in the block at a time.

Quiet and well run. Close to a lovely village with shops and bars and pubs. Nice views. Nearby Dungeness is amazing. Staff were great. No kids and no wifi.

    Disliked:

Road noise was noticeable but not intrusive. In fact, this was good because it meant we could not hear conversations from caravans nearby.

Nice amount of space, location is excellent, camping was exactly what we wanted, quiet and safe.
It has basic facilities which suited us, but all we needed, water, toilets/shower when open and sluice etc.
Rachael and Lee who run the site are so lovely, really friendly and made sure we didn't need anything. They were on hand to answer any questions, anytime and also came and had a chat with us to make sure we were ok. Doesn't get any better than that.
Had a lovely walk into the high street, which was also very pretty.

    Disliked:

Finding the correct entrance in the dark was slightly more complicated, due to the postcode and two entrances (there are also two sites). Maybe a main road sign would have helped.
Light around toilets at night would also be useful as it is very dark.
