General

  • Kent countryside site with a warm and friendly atmosphere
  • Dog-friendly
  • Immaculately-maintained amenities

'Top of the range', 'luxurious' and 'immaculate' are a few of the accolades heaped upon the amenities at adults-only Still Acres Touring and Camping Park by grateful guests: if an essential part of your hol is sparkling and modern essentials, you'll be well set up here.

But there's more. Partly because the owners of this warm and friendly family-run site in the midst of Kent know their stuff and partly because of the site's setting: Still Acres is just outside Wealden village, with easy access to Kent's beaches, castles and many historic houses – if you're happy to go a bit further you could even venture to la belle France.

The site is on 28 acres of scenic and flat grassland with two acres set aside for guests; dogs are most welcome too and have a fenced off area for off-lead frolics.

And as for the accoladed amenities? The shower block on site is centrally heated, with disabled toilets and powerful showers and hand dryers – and all is immaculately maintained by the Still Acres team.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

This is the kind of camping park we really like. Clean, peaceful and friendly. We come from Denmark and travel a lot around UK (3 month a year or so), because we love it - and because I am a travel writer. So we have visited MANY places.

Still Acres is on our "favorite list". So we will definitely be back and also recommend it in future writings :-)

    Disliked:

    Nothing to dislike.

Electric gates with key fob provided, so you can come and go as you please. Pitches have plenty of room, all electric and nice and level. Toilets and showers, AMAZING, very posh and clean. Loads of room in each toilet. Not squashed in at all. Hot water, at the temperature you want and not push button...
The owner was really nice and friendly. We have yet to explore the area walking. The pubs we drove to (6 mins away) were really friendly.

Secure gate on site, lovely clean and modern toilet block, good facilities that are central to all the pitches. The best part for us was no kids so it's lovely and quiet! There's a big secure field for dogs to run around too.

How quiet the location is and how clean the facilities are. Pitch sizes are good and not too many pitches, hence the quietness. Facilities are great, showers nice size and very clean and place to refreeze ice blocks. Sign strength is good on Three.

    Disliked:

Not a dislike as we will defiantly be back, but hairdryers in the bathrooms would be good, nothing else would I change.

Local attractions

Still Acres Touring and Camping Park is most niftily located in a central position to some of the most popular Kent attractions, gardens and beaches, so pack a picnic and set off for the day to see what you can see.

Castle fans (everyone should be a castle fan) have a few famed piles in the area to pick from: the Still Acres team reckons that Leeds Castle, with 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens, daily activities and free flying falconry displays, is one of the best days out in Kent.

You could/should also get along to Chiddingstone Castle, set in 35 acres of grounds including a lake, rose garden and woodland, and with the collections of Denys Eyre Bower who owned and lived at Chiddingstone between 1956 and 1977. Dover Castle, set above the famed white cliffs, and Tonbridge Castle, dating back to the eleventh century, are also popular castley Kent picks.

If it's old piles you're after, also see Georgian Belmont House and Gardens in Throwley, near Faversham, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church.
