'Top of the range', 'luxurious' and 'immaculate' are a few of the accolades heaped upon the amenities at adults-only Still Acres Touring and Camping Park by grateful guests: if an essential part of your hol is sparkling and modern essentials, you'll be well set up here. But there's more. Partly because the owners of this warm and friendly family-run site in the midst of Kent know their stuff (including having a fully certified caravan repair and service technician on site to help out with problems) and partly because of the site's setting: Still Acres is just outside Wealden village, with easy access to Kent's beaches, castles and many historic houses – if you're happy to go a bit further you could even venture to la belle France (Dover is a little over an hour's drive away). The site is on 28 acres of scenic and flat grassland with two acres set aside for guests; dogs are most welcome too and have a two-acre fenced off area for off-lead frolics (with water to keep them cool and benches for their owners to have a rest on). You're very welcome to take walks (with or without a dog) around the rest of the site as well (dogs must be kept on leads and mess picked up). And as for the accoladed amenities? The shower block on site is centrally heated, with disabled toilets and powerful showers and hand dryers – and all is immaculately maintained by the Still Acres team.

Disliked: I am not sure where to start. Upon arriving early we did think we would have to wait for our pitch but we were wrong it was ready, we thought excellent great start. That’s when I should have realised it was too good to be true. We were clearly given a pitch that was an emergency pitch. After speaking with reception we were told all the pitches are the same size clearly they need to go a measure. We reserved a fully serviced grass pitch not sure where the grass is. The pitch was way too small to put an awning up. The lady was rude and didn’t offer any support only said we are full I will give you your money back. Our poor dog had to then make a long journey back. I am very disappointed that on a bank holiday weekend and when we had booked a few months ago we were left with nowhere to stay and had to go home. I would never stay here or recommend this to anyone. I have stayed at fully serviced grass pitches and wow they have been amazing I feel the owners need to change the description as what they had offered is not what we had been given.

From the manager: Well what can I say!! A miserable couple I have not come across. There was nothing wrong with the pitch you had been given.Twin axle caravans fit on it fine with awning but for some reason you couldn’t fit your small C/Van and awning. It was not an Emergency pitch(we do not have any)I was not rude to you.You would know if I was!!I could not offer you any support as you put it as there was no other pitches available as all full due to B/H Weekend.So the only thing I could offer you was a full refund even though I could not see there was any problem on our behalf.You gladly took the refund and went on you way. One thing we both agree on is that You Will Not Be Coming Back !!

Liked: Another fantastic trip to Stillacres. We never go to the same sites more than once but this is our third trip here. Coming from South Wales its quite a trip. The pitches are a good size, all completely level. The owners are veey friendly and helpful and basically just leave you to it. Toilet and shower block is one of the best we've had. Off lead dog field is brilliant, our 14 year old cocker pulled us down the lane to it every day. Electric fob controlled gates at the entrance which is a brilliant security measure. Large chest freezer for everyone's use. There is some noise from the railway but it lasts for seconds and after a day or two you hardly notice it. I certainly wouldn't let it put me off visiting this site. We will be back next year I'm sure!

Liked: An absolutely beautiful site.Is definitely the best we have stayed on and we’ve been all over Europe too. The shower rooms were spotless, the little details like the clothes hooks, all so homely. The host is such a lovely lady and couldn’t of been more helpful, keep doing what your doing as it’s just perfect.

Still Acres Touring and Camping Park is most niftily located in a central position to some of the most popular Kent attractions, gardens and beaches, so pack a picnic and set off for the day to see what you can see. Castle fans (everyone should be a castle fan) have a few famed attractions in the area to pick from: the Still Acres team reckons that Leeds Castle, with 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens, daily activities and free flying falconry displays, is one of the best days out in Kent. Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

General

Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Occupancy

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Pitches

Pitches: a £10.00 deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.
Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Reception

Reception is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. between 01/03 and 01/11.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
