What customers say
This is a basic stopover site, primarily used for its convenient proximity to the Eurotunnel and Dover ferry port. It offers electricity and water but lacks toilet and waste disposal facilities. Visitors often describe the site as a 'building site' or rough terrain due to ongoing restoration work. Access can be tricky, with a heavy automated gate causing issues for some. While appreciated for its location and the historical aspect of the WW2 gun battery, many find it overpriced for the limited amenities. The nearby Battle of Britain memorial and The Valiant Sailor pub are frequently mentioned as positive aspects.

Liked Love the point this is a historical site. The charge was worth the location
Disliked It’s a building site, tight turn in and unsafe for children. Facility wise is tough and not clear.

Fully-serviced grass motorhome pitch
Liked Exactly as advertised - limited facilities (electric and water), but excellently close to the Battle of Britain museum and memorial and very close to the Channel Tunnel - we used it as a “night before” and it worked really well, we all loved exploring the site and history. We would use this site again!
Disliked The only downside for us really was the gate getting in - we knew it would be tight from other reviews so were prepared - but yes, it’s tight! I think knowing you just have to block traffic while the gate opens is helpful, there doesn’t seem to be a better direction, both make it a squeeze. Totally doable (though our van is 6m, there was a larger van that arrived at the same time as us), you just have to be straight on to it. This would not deter us staying again, just worth going in prepared!

Liked Toller, ruhiger Platz mit toller Landschaft. Ein Pub ist keine 5 min. entfernt. Das Essen war dort toll. Absolut Hundefreundlich. Von der Fähre 9min. entfernt.
Disliked Die Möglichkeit auf Entleerung/Wasser wäre schön

Zweckmäßig
Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Fascinating haven
Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Exactly as described. Water, electricity, hard standing. Some may think it an expensive stopover but we loved that funds go to maintaining and restoring the site. Really appreciated the opportunity to have a look around the battery and other interesting artefacts!
Would definitely use again.
Disliked Nothing to dislike
