General
- Quiet, rural and spacious site on a working farm
- On the North Downs Way surrounded by fields and woodland
- Free-range eggs and fresh apple juice for sale
Fancy a peaceful Kentish sojourn, with loads of space for all to run around, and with walks and bike rides all around? Dunn.
Dunn Street Farm is a working farm above the village of Westwell near Ashford, surrounded by hills and woodland. It's a topping stop for hikers and bikers – the 153-mile North Downs Way passes through the farm – and for kids, as there's heaps of space to run around/play games on site and it's about ten miles from the critters of Port Lympne Wild Animal Park.
(Small sorts will likely like a look at the Dunn Street Farm critters too: sheep, cattle and horses in the surrounding fields, and chickens and goats in the paddocks around the farmyard.)
Amenities are simple but clean: loos, showers and washing-up facilities are a few minutes walk from the camping fields.
Guests can buy free-range eggs produced by the farm's chickens and apple juice from the family's fruit farm near Maidstone; for further supplies, Westwell and local pub the Wheel Inn are less than ten minutes' walk away. The villages of Charing and Challock with cafés and shops are within ten minutes' drive.

The following route is recommended to avoid the narrowest lanes:
From junction 9 on the M20, follow the signs towards Ashford then at the next roundabout take the A20 towards Lenham. Follow the A20 until the two carriageways merge then take the next right turn towards Westwell. Follow the road into Westwell then when you reach The Wheel Inn follow Gold Hill towards Challock. At the top of the steep hill turn left into the North Downs Way (signposted 'Pilgrim's Way') then take the first right in to Dunn Street Farm.
Local attractions
Take to your feet or pedals to hike and bike the North Downs Way from Dunn Street Farm, making time for a tea and bun at the Kent Gliding Club café at Challock, a popular pitstop for walkers and cyclists in the area.
