What customers say
This is a peaceful, friendly, and well-maintained site, ideal for a relaxed getaway with a back-to-nature feel. Guests appreciated the tidy pitches, spacious shower with hot water, and attentive owners who provided a warm welcome. Bedding, fire pits, and open space for children were highlighted as positives. While not suited for those seeking extensive entertainment, it offers a pleasant, private camping experience. Potential visitors should note that visibility exiting the site onto the road was initially a concern, but a traffic mirror has since been installed.

Liked Friendly, tidy and peaceful. Not a place for people who want hot tubs, activities, entertainment etc, but perfect if you want a nice, peaceful meadow with a pleasant view and very welcoming owner.

Bell tent (four person)
Liked Very attentive host, the bedding provided was excellent addition and kids enjoyed playing in the open space.
An easy off the grid experience ideal for both organised and not organised camping enthusiasts.
The shower space was spacious for a family and had plenty of hot water am or pm time.
Disliked Exiting from the parking space into the main road has limited visibility

From the manager: Hi, thank you so much for your review. I'm so glad you and the children enjoyed your stay. We have now revisited the possibility of putting a traffic mirror opposite the entrance to the site and this should be in situ in a couple of days. Thank you!
Regards,
Jan

It was a pleasure to stay
Bell tent (four person)
Liked We spent two wonderful nights at this campsite and highly recommend it! The tent was perfectly clean, with very comfortable beds. We loved the welcoming touches of coffee, tea, and cookies. The setup is excellent: a private campfire spot, hot showers, and a useful kettle to use over the fire. The location is beautiful, quiet, and not overcrowded, offering plenty of privacy. Our children were absolutely delighted with the stay and loved the whole experience. The owner deserves a special mention – she is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. It is the perfect place to relax in nature. We will definitely be back!

Excellent sight, lovely owners and nice clean easy to use facilities
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely site a short drive to a food shop etc. The composting toilet was the best I had seen, it was very clean with good clear instructions, well topped up sawdust, unlike other places we have stayed and with a urinal for men to use. Shower, washing up and handwashing facilities are great and close to the pitches.
Owners were lovely and very helpful, When we phoned to ask if we could check in slightly earlier, they were more than happy and came to meet us and give us a tour and spoke to us everyday to see if we were happy or needed anything.
The site is close to a road but it was quiet and you couldn't hear much apart from the occasional tractor, which we didn't mind.
Our stay was nice and peaceful at night and lovely to hear the cows close by in the mornings and evenings.
We were the only guest for the duration of our stay so there was lots of space for our young children to run around without bothering anyone.
Would definitely stay again if returning to the island.
Disliked The big open gates onto the road did make a little nervous with Toddlers, but didn't pose an issue to us.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and lovely words. I must apologise for not asking if you would like the gates closed or to say you were welcome to close them when you were back on site. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'm glad you had a good time during your few days here and we'd certainly love to see you again next time you visit the Island.
The owner provided an incredibly warm welcome and was very flexible!

Liked Waking to a warm glowing sun on a an early spring morning is a delight. Our tent was perfect aimed so we could enjoy the sunrise from our beds. Such a pity we could only stay one night!
