  • Dog-friendly site in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house
  • In the New Forest National Park, 15 minutes’ drive from beaches
  • Farm shops, pubs, cafés and train station within walking distance
You’ll be all set for a royally relaxing stay at Camping at the Manor in the New Forest National Park. Here, you’ll be dwelling in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house where there are often wild deer to be seen roaming the grounds and occasionally the mad owner on his lawnmower ensuring that the pitches stay nicely trimmed. You’ll have plenty of space to make into your little hidey-hole, as the pitches are spread between three large fields, surrounded by mature trees and planting for extra privacy. They’re level-grounded too, so it shouldn’t be too tricky to set up your tent and you’ll have access to a composting toilet, a shower and a washing-up area. There’s a real treat in store when it comes to the world of food around this area, as New Milton (five minutes’ drive) lives up to its description as a market town. As well as regular shops, there are farm shops for local goodies and pubs, restaurants and cafés. Closer by, Ashley (35 minutes’ walk) has a small shop too. Of course, there are all the popular pubs and eateries around Sway, Milford on Sea, Hordle and New Forest too – many within a short drive of the site. Just let the site know if they can arrange any bookings on your behalf. Those of you planning on leaving the car behind won’t need to miss out, as local buses will take you to Bournemouth or Lymington and the train station in New Milton is just 40 minutes’ walk away.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked We had a fantastic stay at this campsite and would definitely come back again!
The site was incredibly clean and well looked after, and I was clear that the owners take a lot of pride in keeping everything running smoothly. The facilities were great, and the whole site had such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere.
The owners were amazing and really went above and beyond, particularly with the ongoing fire ban. They’ve found such a great way to keep the camping spirit alive by providing a communal fire and cooking area.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Such a lovely chilled site. Everyone seems to be very friendly. The owners are so lovely and welcoming. The showers looked spotless (we showered in our campervan) and the composting toilets were clean.

It was great to be able to order delicious pizza. There was a good selection of beverages available to order. Breakfast bacon rolls were also available.

Really nice wash up facilities and areas where you can come and cook your food (cooking on pitches isn’t allowed at the moment due to the fire risk.

We arrived on the pitch after visiting Mottisfont. It’s nice to have a pitch with 12 pm arrival and 12 pm departure.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ve booked for next weekend.

Liked Really good location, site lovely and the owners were happy to help and wanted to make your stay as good as it could have been.

Disliked The people that haven't any respect for others that are away for a couple of nights having a nice time, playing music loud!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Incredible camping site! The owners have thought of eveything to accomodate guests! Food prepping area, many tables for cooking and eating, a counter where to order pizzas, breakfast items or drinks during the evening and day. Everything is upcycled and very well curated and artistic.
Compost toilets are hyper clean and fresh, showers (in an upcycled lorry!) have warm water, and they are clean!
10 min from the beach and 15 min from amazing paths in the New Forest. Farm nearby sells fruits and vegetables too!
I could not recommend more!

Thanks for another super review.

We work very hard through our summer to give you the best we can, so your kind comments are very appreciated.

I would always encourage those of you with questions and recommendations about the site to come and find us at reception.
Always keen to hear your thoughts.

Would use again if toilets changed to conventional ones, but unlikely.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Liked The owners of the site were extremely friendly and very helpful, site kept clean and liked the communal sitting/barbecue area although didn't use only there couple days, but good idea to meet other campers. Showers very good.

Disliked Toilets, which were composting, didn't like using them and the procedure if having to obtain cup of compost to throw down the loo every time used, I didn't like, but could see the reason for this type of toilet from an environmental point of view, ie saving of water, kept clean, unisex toilets too close and didn't like bumping into males in such an enclosed area, might be ok with some people, but being older guess I'm a bit old fashioned, also no hot water in washing up area only cold, but suppose you suppose you supply your own hot water if you chose to use the outside washing up area.

From the manager: Hi Marilyn

Thanks for your review where even though a bit harsh.
Good job the showers weren't unisex like a lot of campsites or we would have received a big zero 😣.
Please remember when reviewing our campsite that its a 'pop up' this means only seasonal.
We cant provide hotel amenities and let's face it, its also called 'Camping'.
I would rather provide clean compost unisex loos than Chemical plastic thunder boxes lighting up the fields with sign saying 'come have a go'
If we did 'male and female' we would be outside today's acceptable needing 'Trans, Bi,Gay,Not sure and I identify as a Teapot'. A field of Loo's, we could call it 'Le` Craperie'.

Anyway glad the rest of your stay was enjoyable and Adam found Vapers corner.

Best wishes on your camp travels

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely site, clean facilities, compost toilets worked well and weren't at all smelly!

Sensible approach to fire safety in the current heat.

Maria and John were so friendly and helpful.

The fire pit for toasting marshmallows was a lovely touch.

The drinks/food available from the kiosk were also great and there was always a lovely vibe in the shared food prep/eating space.

Great location for getting to other shops and down to the coast (by car)

We had a lovely stay and will come again when back in the area!

From the manager: Hello Heather

Beach day, anyone? There are plenty of options for your daily dose of sand and sea. Milford on Sea beach (10 minutes’ drive) has very easy access in the high season. You might want to practise your bodyboarding at Highcliffe beach (15 minutes), paddle at Mudeford beach (15 minutes) or indulge in watersports at Avon beach (15 minutes). Other places for a dip (or a snooze and some sandcastle building if you’re feeling like a lazier day) are Sandbanks beach (45 minutes) and Boscombe beach (half an hour). Bournemouth (35 minutes) has plenty of seaside entertainment too, as well as an aquarium with a penguin enclosure. As for the quirky stuff, the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes) has a collection of restored motorcycles, including factory racers and exotic prototypes. Arty types might want to visit the Forest Arts Centre (five minutes) too. Put some peaceful walks in your plans too… there’s plenty to explore around the 24-acre Steamer Point Nature Reserve (15 minutes). It’s close to Highcliffe Castle (15 minutes), a grand Grade I-listed mansion that will add in some history.
