  • Dog-friendly site in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house
  • In the New Forest National Park, 15 minutes’ drive from beaches
  • Farm shops, pubs, cafés and train station within walking distance
You’ll be all set for a royally relaxing stay at Camping at the Manor in the New Forest National Park. Here, you’ll be dwelling in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house where there are often wild deer to be seen roaming the grounds and occasionally the mad owner on his lawnmower ensuring that the pitches stay nicely trimmed. You’ll have plenty of space to make into your little hidey-hole, as the pitches are spread between three large fields, surrounded by mature trees and planting for extra privacy. They’re level-grounded too, so it shouldn’t be too tricky to set up your tent and you’ll have access to a composting toilet, a shower and a washing-up area. There’s a real treat in store when it comes to the world of food around this area, as New Milton (five minutes’ drive) lives up to its description as a market town. As well as regular shops, there are farm shops for local goodies and pubs, restaurants and cafés. Closer by, Ashley (35 minutes’ walk) has a small shop too. Of course, there are all the popular pubs and eateries around Sway, Milford on Sea, Hordle and New Forest too – many within a short drive of the site. Just let the site know if they can arrange any bookings on your behalf. Those of you planning on leaving the car behind won’t need to miss out, as local buses will take you to Bournemouth or Lymington and the train station in New Milton is just 40 minutes’ walk away.

What customers say

This eco-friendly campsite offers a wonderfully friendly and relaxed atmosphere with exceptionally spacious, flat pitches. Hosts are frequently praised for their warmth, helpfulness, and humour. Facilities, including compost toilets and hot showers housed in a converted horse lorry, are generally very clean and well-maintained. The on-site shop offers drinks, snacks, and hot food like pizzas and bacon rolls. While some noted potential queues for toilets during peak times and a lack of shade, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Campsite feel - felt I was in a festival
Compost toilets weren't smelly and smelt lovely
Showers Warm
Owners lovely
Food and drink that was sold was very reasonable
Although understandably as the ground is so dry due to the long spell of dry weather you couldn't cook/bbq by your pitch. They provide a place to cook and a bbq to use considering the safety of everyone.
On your leaving day there was no time restriction
Group campfire where you could toast marshmallow
Large Child play area marked out for kids to play sport
Lots of places to visit near by but with children you need to drive

Disliked Nothing to do with the campsite but the road from the campsite is busy so not ideal for young children to cycle on. So day trips would need to be by vehicle

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A beautiful camping field, next to a really well maintained compost toilet (x5), six showers on a converted horse box, and a wooden reception shed, serving drinks, pizza, bacon rolls, and such-like. All was perfect for our needs. The best part, is the family that run the place. Really friendly people, and treated you as if you were a guest in their home (which to a degree, you are). Nothing was too much trouble for them, and the excellent service was always delivered with a friendly smile and good humour. Would encourage anyone that likes to camp, without fuss.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We really enjoyed this site, we found it as described, run by a lovely family who put safety first.
The rustic style along side the friendly approach was refreshing. The pitch sizes are great, making sure people have space to stretch out. We took our 2 dogs, and they made sure we were placed in a quiet spot, to allow the dogs to relax (they can react to sounds and alert).

The food and drinks were reasonably priced, and we enjoyed the pizzas.

This is a site we will be coming to back, thx for having us!

Liked Absolutely Brilliant! Wonderful hosts, who made you feel very welcome also extremely attentive, making the stay feel like visiting old friends. We are already booking our next stay and can’t wait! The other thing to mention is how well run the site is and extremely peaceful. I would say that it’s probably the best campsite in the New Forest!

Beach day, anyone? There are plenty of options for your daily dose of sand and sea. Milford on Sea beach (10 minutes’ drive) has very easy access in the high season. You might want to practise your bodyboarding at Highcliffe beach (15 minutes), paddle at Mudeford beach (15 minutes) or indulge in watersports at Avon beach (15 minutes). Other places for a dip (or a snooze and some sandcastle building if you’re feeling like a lazier day) are Sandbanks beach (45 minutes) and Boscombe beach (half an hour). Bournemouth (35 minutes) has plenty of seaside entertainment too, as well as an aquarium with a penguin enclosure. As for the quirky stuff, the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes) has a collection of restored motorcycles, including factory racers and exotic prototypes. Arty types might want to visit the Forest Arts Centre (five minutes) too. Put some peaceful walks in your plans too… there’s plenty to explore around the 24-acre Steamer Point Nature Reserve (15 minutes). It’s close to Highcliffe Castle (15 minutes), a grand Grade I-listed mansion that will add in some history.
