  • Dog-friendly site in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house
  • In the New Forest National Park, 15 minutes’ drive from beaches
  • Farm shops, pubs, cafés and train station within walking distance
You’ll be all set for a royally relaxing stay at Camping at the Manor in the New Forest National Park. Here, you’ll be dwelling in the grounds of an Edwardian country manor house where there are often wild deer to be seen roaming the grounds and occasionally the mad owner on his lawnmower ensuring that the pitches stay nicely trimmed. You’ll have plenty of space to make into your little hidey-hole, as the pitches are spread between three large fields, surrounded by mature trees and planting for extra privacy. They’re level-grounded too, so it shouldn’t be too tricky to set up your tent and you’ll have access to a composting toilet, a shower and a washing-up area. There’s a real treat in store when it comes to the world of food around this area, as New Milton (five minutes’ drive) lives up to its description as a market town. As well as regular shops, there are farm shops for local goodies and pubs, restaurants and cafés. Closer by, Ashley (35 minutes’ walk) has a small shop too. Of course, there are all the popular pubs and eateries around Sway, Milford on Sea, Hordle and New Forest too – many within a short drive of the site. Just let the site know if they can arrange any bookings on your behalf. Those of you planning on leaving the car behind won’t need to miss out, as local buses will take you to Bournemouth or Lymington and the train station in New Milton is just 40 minutes’ walk away.

What customers say

This is a highly-rated, eco-friendly campsite with incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. Guests praise the spacious, flat pitches, clean and well-maintained facilities (including hot showers and compost toilets), and the convenient on-site shop with food options like pizzas and bacon rolls. The site offers a relaxed, festival-like atmosphere and is well-located for exploring the New Forest and coast. Some minor points include the entrance being potentially hard to spot and limited dog-walking paths directly from the site.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything!

Such a lucky find, exactly what we wanted for a weekend away as 2 friends with our kids. The whole site was kept spotless, the toilets and showers were lovely and clean. We had pizzas and breakfast baps which were all delicious and really well priced. We were made to feel so welcomed by Stumpy and Maria (I hope I’ve got that right!), they were so accommodating and helpful - thank you.

Sorry again about driving over your bucket!!

Disliked Nothing!

Liked The stay was lovely. We had a warm welcome on arrival from the owners. Everything was explained, especially the restrictions regarding the dry weather. The facilities are wonderfully quirky but clean and the reception are is welcoming with every thing needed. The whole feel of the site was relaxing and the owners were on hand for help
And questions. However we didn’t see any giraffes!

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Liked Fabulous site! The owners made us so welcome and were a joy to chat to! Facilities are full of character but also spotlessly clean and pleasant. We loved the evening pizzas and wine and the breakfast options too. Camping field was beautifully maintained and peaceful. We will very definitely be back!

You might want to practise your bodyboarding at Highcliffe beach (15 minutes), paddle at Mudeford beach (15 minutes) or indulge in watersports at Avon beach (15 minutes). Other places for a dip (or a snooze and some sandcastle building if you’re feeling like a lazier day) are Sandbanks beach (45 minutes) and Boscombe beach (half an hour). Bournemouth (35 minutes) has plenty of seaside entertainment too, as well as an aquarium with a penguin enclosure. As for the quirky stuff, the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (five minutes) has a collection of restored motorcycles, including factory racers and exotic prototypes. It’s close to Highcliffe Castle (15 minutes), a grand Grade I-listed mansion that will add in some history.
