This is a peaceful campsite that welcomes families and dogs to its level and well-kept pitches, which are sheltered by mature trees and hedgerows. With facilities including hot showers and flushing toilets – plus a playground, games field, dog exercise field and footpath to a local country park – Folly Farm Caravan and Camping Park is a tiptop place to stay in the gorgeous Hampshire countryside. How to unwind here? Well, there are plenty of spots around the site to let your hair down (thanks to its peaceful and level grassy pitches, play areas, wifi, free showers and walks in the surrounding woodlands) but you’ll have your choice of many a day out from here too. Perhaps a venture into the South Downs National Park (10 minutes’ drive)? Into the vibrant city of Winchester (15 minutes) for its historic sites, such as the medieval cathedral, the ruins of Wolvesey Castle, the working 18th-century corn mill, Jane Austen’s house or the castle’s medieval round table, once sat at by King Arthur? From Winchester, there’s a short stroll along the water meadows of the river Itchen down to England’s oldest medieval almshouse and The Hospital of St Cross or the 25-minute ascent to St Catherine’s Hill for views of the city, a dramatic chalk hill and an Iron Age hillfort. Liked Good clean facilities. Decent room on the pitch. Well marked and fairly flat.

Disliked The access bollard is a little temperamental, do wait for the light to be green as it has a tendency to pop back up while the light is red!

Liked Lovely, well maintained & secure site. Nice pub within walking distance. Good hot showers.
Close to Winchester which is a lovely city to visit

Disliked A stool or seat in the showers to put things on & maybe a shower curtain in the ladies as the spray from shower makes the things hanging on the door a bit wet.
Quite a long walk to the toilet block & to empty toilet cassette.
Unable to get Wi-Fi but that wasn’t a problem as signal was good

Liked Clean, plenty of space and peaceful.

Disliked Owners / staff could have spoke on arrival rather than waiting until I was parked with kids and fire was burning nicely. I did not appreciate having a bite to eat but being met with staff doing rounds who only wanted to explain to me my van was the wrong way and I needed to move a fire that was lit. I was being safe, it just didn’t fit how immaculate they want everyone to position themselves.
Detail in 3 page emails after finishing work for the week, notice boards etc won’t ever get fully read, expect to welcome people and explain the rules if they are so strict. A simple greeting on arrival would have been welcome.

Liked Lovely pitch, perfect area. Very clean, easy access for majority! The owners are lovely, friendly and couldn’t do enough!

Disliked Access for baby changing/showering. Also disabled access for bathroom/showers.

Liked Good size pitches, tidy site.

Disliked The facilities were impractical to use!
Lights in the toilets were on a motion sensor with a tight angle and short time. By the time you entered the toilet cubicle and sat down, the lights went off!!
Same in the dish-washing area.

The water for washing your dishes was “tepid” at best!!

The ladies showers had no screen at all, so all your belongings need to be in a plastic bag and hung on the door, or they will get wet! (Even at the far end of the cubicle)
