General

  • Family-friendly with sea views in the New Forest National Park
  • Short drive away from amusement parks, velodrome and dry ski slope
  • Lepe Country Park and beach about 10 minutes' walk away

How can you choose between forests and seas? At Lepe Beach Campsite, a spacious, family-friendly Southampton site in New Forest National Park, six miles from the historic Beaulieu village, you don’t have to…

Lepe Beach Campsite is half a mile from Lepe Country Park, within New Forest National Park, where you can take to the beach, explore the wooded cliffs and learn more about New Forest’s role in D-Day’s Operation Overlord.

The site is less than a mile from the coast, so is well placed for watersports and beach activities: try out canoeing or kayaking, take to the water for a sailing lesson, or relax with a dip in the sea.

Back on site, fire up the barbecue and cook yourself some supplies from the shop five minutes’ drive away or from the nearby farmer’s markets, then chow down sitting around the campfire. If you’d prefer a break from cooking, there are a handful of restaurants within 30 minutes of the site.

Despite the wind & £5 per night fire pit hire the site was lovely28/08/2019

How open and clean the site was. Facilities were great and the proximity to beach was excellent. Lovely cafe right at the back was spot on!

    Disliked:

The site was super windy which caused us less experienced campers an embarrassing 1 to 2hr set up rather than our usual 30minutes to 1hr as we were fighting with the wind. The wind made sleeping and cooking very difficult and even lighting the firepit. This information could have been given to us prior or some help offered perhaps. Also the fire pit could have been part of the price if needed, as at the high cost and the extra costs the stay was becoming more expensive than a budget hotel.

Wonderful Bank Holiday Weekend in Lepe27/08/2019

We had an amazing bank holiday weekend at Lepe. 3 families stayed together (6 adults 3 children) and had a fabulous time. The weather helped a lot. We got to the campsite by 3.30pm on the Friday and managed to find a pitch really close to the beach. We rented one of their fire pits and bought wood, which did the trick every evening - kept us warm and melted our marshmallows! The site was pretty full, but everyone was super friendly, lots of families with young kids.
The facilities were basic but fine. Hot water for showers and washing up - plenty of toilets with toilet paper, soap and hand towels.
The highlight for me was a daily early morning swim with my 10 year old - best start to the day and great for clearing my head.
The management team were fab - really friendly and accomodating - always smiling. Thank you!

    Disliked:

    Nothing really.

The tent and camping equipment already being set up was fantastic. We didn’t want for anything. The staff were great also.

    Disliked:

Could do with another toilet and shower block. They were becoming a bit overcrowded while we were there but it was a very busy bank holiday weekend so I’m sure this wouldn’t be a problem at a less busy time of the season.

Warm welcome by onsite staff who were a visible presence throughout the day. Good toilet and showering facilities which were cleaned and maintained regularly throughout the day and evening. Lovely flat pitches with a fabulous view of the Solent. So peaceful and relaxing here. My children were able to move around the site safely. Close proximity to the Country Park and the beach.

There was plenty of space to pick your own pitch so you weren’t restricted to an allocated space. Excellent views of the ships leaving Portsmouth Harbour and the Isle of Wight. It was a 3 minute walk from the beach and and ten minute walk to the excellent Lookout cafe for chips/ brunch/ ice cream and play area.
