General

  • Glamping site in the Royal Victoria Country Park near Netley
  • Half an hour from New Forest, Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World
  • 10 minutes' walk from Netley station and the village's pubs and cafés

Bell Tent Glamping is a coastal site within the grounds of the Royal Victoria Country Park, 10 minutes' walk from the village of Netley. The park runs down to the shoreline, where you'll have great views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

This is a good location if you'd like to get around by public transport, with Netley station just a few minutes' walk from the park and site.

There's plenty to do in the park, including three play areas, a ride-on model railway, a heritage centre and several trails through the forest and along the coast. Elsewhere nearby you've got lots of family-friendly attractions to choose from: spend the day at Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park, or visit the New Forest to see if you can spot some of the ponies, pigs and deer that live there.

Comfortable bell tents contain all sorts of luxuries including soft mattresses, carpets, fairy lights and woodburning stoves, but you'll need to bring your own bedding. The well-kept toilet block contains accessible toilets and showers.

For food, the park café is open during the day and there are four pubs within 15 minutes' walk. A mile away in Hamble-le-Rice you've got more pubs and a selection of restaurants and cafés. There's a small supermarket in Netley and a couple of larger ones three miles away on the outskirts of Southampton.

Groups are welcome on site.

The comfy mattresses and supply of kitchen utensils. We didn’t realise there was a fridge so didn’t bring anything to put it. Vanity cabin was nice and the fact we could charge phones etc.

The bell tent was lovely, very cosy and had everything we needed. Weather wasn't on our side unfortunately and it rained very hard the first day and night. In the summer it would be great to sit outside on the picnic table and use the fire pit to cook food though.

Very clean facilities in the toilets and shower block, in fact when I went there at 7am somebody had clearly already cleaned sinks and mopped the floor. There were also plenty of logs.

Quite a muddy field due to the recent heavy rain. The first night we parked next to our tent but the next night we opted to park in the lane as the entrance looked like we might have got stuck!! Owner available by text when there was a tent full of loud people the first night until mad o'clock, I can't really complain about that though as it's not their fault some people have no consideration!

We had a really nice stay and I would definitely recommend this place to other people. The second night it was lovely and peaceful and toasty warm with the fire going.

Wonderful experience. We enjoyed every moment of it, including rain and windy weather.
DS is 6 year old. Wish there was a kettle to fill out hot water bottles as it got really cold in the night since it took a long time to fire the log stove.
But, overall, excellent place, will visit again.

It’s was spacious and clean - everything is provided for you, kettle plates cups coffee and tea, washing facilities near by and toilets near by. There is a charging station aswell with lots of plug sockets for you to charge your phone or to use a hair dryer

    Disliked:

Only thing about the trip that was disliked was the weather, which is obviously not there fault. But even with the rain the kids still had the best time and enjoyed them self’s

All of it! Lovely setting, tents well looked after, equipment/beds clean. Showers clean and warm!
Fire wood well stocked and easy to access. And owner very helpful and friendly. I think they had a hiccup with cleaners over the weekend which I had not noticed but they apologised just the same. Will definitely recommend to Friends! A little gem for an easy escape :)

    Disliked:

The only thing which I think is under going construction is the fence with a few dog walkers approaching the tent. Nothing major... plus I love dogs :)

the site set in a beautiful peaceful country park was amazing me an my partner arrived by train which was so close to the site it was untrue and we found all the shops an takeaways we needed within a short walking distance. Also very friendly and helpful owner who was in contact on the day of our arrival with prompt instructions on how to find our tent and enter it .

    Disliked:

I think the first night we stayed the other campers had taken all the wood supplies for them selves but this was only a small thing as we found a shop on site that we could purchase some more from and was not the fault of the site owner this was replenished quickly the following morning and may have been different if we had arrived earlier .

10/10 what a fantastic adventure we had!
Can't think of a better way to experience camping, but with all the amenities and comfort you could need, whilst not taking away from a real adventure!

Fantastic grounds, amazing playgrounds, a small beach front of which is perfect for stone throwing with little ones.. and acres of land to collect firewood!

Bell tent glamping was perfect for our family.

I can't understand the previous criticisms unless what people really wanted was a 5 star hotel experience!!

We will return year after year, it has everything young children could dream of in a camping holiday, yet comfy beds, hot water and even free wine on arrival to keep the parents happy!

    Can't wait to return!
