Sick of spending all your hols stuck behind the wheel? At Bell Tent Glamping, a family-friendly coastal site 10 minutes’ walk from the village of Netley in Hampshire, you don’t need to stress yourself out – park up then throw away the keys (in a safe place where you’ll easily find them come home time).
Within the grounds of the Royal Victoria Country Park, Bell Tent Glamping is close to loads to entertain young families, with three play areas, a ride-on model railway, a heritage centre and several trails through the forest and along the coast falling within the Park – bring Rex along to run free, but slap on a lead while you’re on site and within the play areas.
Tiring of the area around Royal Victoria? You still won’t have to get behind the wheel unless you really want to. Netley station is a 15-minute walk from Bell Tent Glamping and it's all aboard for trains to Southampton, Portsmouth and London.

You can start your stay by exploring the spectacular ruins of the late-medieval Netley Abbey, half an hour’s walk from Bell Tent Glamping, but if you’re up for a little driving there’s much more than that to see in the surrounding areas.
Had your appetite for historical buildings and stately piles whetted by Netley Abbey? Make your way to Mottisfont and Hinton Ampner (40 minutes’ drive from the site) to poke around the stunning houses and gardens, or let the vaulted ceilings of Winchester Cathedral (30 minutes away) awe you into silence.
The site is within easy reach of Southampton and Portsmouth but, for something different, a trip out to the Isle of Wight is highly recommended. There are plenty of scenic cliffside trails and sandy beaches, but for absolute must-sees you want to head to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s Osborne House, Alum Bay and Culver Down.
There’s tons nearby for kids too: bring them to explore the forest canopy at Go Ape!, visit Paultons Park for Peppa Pig World and adrenaline-spiking rides, or get up close to the exotic animals at Marwell Zoo, all within half an hour of Bell Tent Glamping.
