  • Family-friendly site on the northeast edge of New Forest National Park
  • Five minutes' drive to Paulton's Park, Home of Peppa Pig World
  • Spacious, flat pitches with space for kids to play safely
If you’ve got kids of a certain age, it’s just possible that you may have heard of a certain Paulton’s Park, Home of Peppa Pig World? If they’ve been well behaved enough to earn a visit to that very place, then Green Pastures Caravan and Touring Park makes an excellent base to do that from – it’s only five minutes’ drive away. That’s not the only thing this family-friendly site has going for it, though – far from it, in fact. This handy Hampshire spot is on the north-eastern edge of the New Forest National Park, about 10 minutes’ drive from Romsey, so it’s a fine location for all sorts of days out around the forest and along the south coast. And it’s all splendidly easy to get to as well, being just a short drive from the M27 motorway. Pitches here are flat and spacious, and cleverly arranged around a large open area where kids can play while parents keep an eye on them from just far enough away. Dogs are also very welcome on site and you can book them in for doggy daycare or woodland walks while you're here if you like. Facilities include toilets, free hot showers, a washing-up area and a launderette. There are several places to eat and drink a short drive away, and a supermarket about five minutes’ drive away if you need picnic bits and other supplies.

What customers say

This campsite offers a relaxed atmosphere with spacious, flat pitches and friendly, helpful staff, particularly site warden Natasha. It's conveniently located for Paultons Park and the New Forest, with good basic facilities that are generally kept clean, though some guests note they are a little dated. Dog-friendly walks and a doggy daycare service are highlights. Some minor road noise and occasional issues with ground conditions after rain are mentioned.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Staff are friendly although not always available. Parking around the outside of a flat field leaving the centre for the kids to play.

Disliked Grass not cut so very long stalks giving wet shoes 1st thing in the morning. This site is currently saturated with contractor vans with the workers leaving very early in the morning. They are there until October 2026 so the park has changed from a family environment to a working man’s temporary base.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Great spot. With the necessary basic facilities.

Disliked Arrival is a bit confusing as the reception area there’s no where to park and a single lane road to try and do a 3 point turn.

The showers could do with an upgrade as both female showers took ages for the water to drain off. So you’re stood in a puddle trying to dry and get dressed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Quiet spot. Absolutely amazing site warden Natalie, who went above and beyond as I had booked the wrong weekend. She arranged for us to stay in the long stay area as it was a bank holiday and the main site was very busy. Something we had never been asked before was if our dogs needed space from others which was brilliant as we have a nervous one. What a star who really engages with the guests. Thank you!

Disliked This site is very basic with quite outdated facilities but if you want a warm welcome and a quiet spot then this would be a good choice.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked -couple who running it were very nice, the man was more than helpful.
-pitches were flat with good ground.
-pitches weren’t huge, but they also weren’t tiny. There was a lot of space in the middle of the fields for kids to play
-had everything you could need- showers, sinks etc, which although were outdated, were still clean.
-nice chilled vibes on site, weren’t too many rules or too strict.
-nice walks in the area.
-one of the cheapest sites in the area

Disliked -the site seemed to have been mostly booked by work men from the same company. They were rowdy on the Saturday night, which can be quite intimidating for our young children. Perhaps an idea would be to put big bookings together in 1 field. However, in the mornings they were extremely quiet when leaving to go to work, & didn’t wake us once!
-there’s no phone number for the campsite anywhere. The ones advertised on pitchup and online aren’t recognised, so it’s almost impossible to get hold of the site at short notice.

I would definitely stay here again, once the work men have left.

Liked Had such a lovely first camping experience here! Natasha the lady who welcomed us was super friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The campsite was so peaceful and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather during our stay.

The facilities were great too — the WC and showers were nice and clean, which made the whole experience even better. We enjoyed it so much we were wishing we could stay longer!

Definitely will be back again in the future.

Many thanks

Local attractions

If your kids are of the right age, you’re definitely going to end up at Paulton’s Park, Home of Peppa Pig World (five minutes’ drive) before too long – it makes a great day out, with all sorts of rides, animal attractions like penguin feeding and themed areas including a dinosaur park (plus the chance to snap pics with the famous pig herself of course…) Beyond that, kids and grownups alike often enjoy days out at New Forest Wildlife Park (10 minutes) and admiring the shiny vehicles at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (20 minutes). The Solent Sky Museum and SeaCity Museum in Southampton (20 minutes) and the historic cathedral and Magna Carta exhibit in Salisbury (half an hour) are popular too – and of course it’s only a 40-minute drive to Stonehenge too. If you’re focusing on fresh air, you might like to head to Lymington (25 minutes), home to several sailing clubs and a seawater swimming pool, or take a walk along a two-mile sand spit to reach Henry VIII’s Hurst Castle (35 minutes). A stroll around Exbury Gardens (25 minutes) and a ride on the steam railway might also be on the cards.
