The site was well looked after and in a perfect location. Was quiet at night, plenty to keep you busy during the day. A welcoming pub/restaurant with very good value meals. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool, the sunny days we were lucky enough to have it felt like we could have been abroad lying on the sun loungers around the outdoor pool.
An on site shop selling a wide variety of things, great place to hire bikes and lots of trails on offer to follow. We have four children, ranging from 14 to 6, they all had a brilliant time and made lots of new friends.
We have visited a fair few sites over the past few years and always talk about our favourites, this one has now become our number 1.

    Disliked:

We read many reviews before we went and no one mentioned that you have to pitch on gravel (unless you are non electric in the field), was a bit of a nightmare and had to visit their shop to purchase gravel pegs. Other than that nothing at all to moan about.

From the moment we arrived the staff greeting us were very helpful and knowledgeable. The site had good and clear signs which makes a big difference when you've never been before .The children loved the very clean swimming pool and I really appreciate the professionalism of all the staff and their friendliness .The pool has a limit to how many people are allowed at one time which is a great idea giving everyone a chance to enjoy the facility.
As we were camping we had a little struggle trying to get our pegs in the gravel pitch but soon rectified this by going to the well stocked equipment shop and buying some great heavy duty pegs !!! We actually ended up stocking up with these for another time as they were very reasonable priced .
The camp shop was well stocked and we had no problem picking up a few extras that we had forgotten, and the fresh bread and croissants were delicious :)

I have to say that the toilets were the cleanest that we have come across when camping you could see they were regularly checked and even when they were being cleaned there was more toilets very nearby .This is always a major plus when camping !!
The walks around the site were really lovely and the kids definitely enjoyed being down by the river .
In fact the children have asked when we are coming back and they want to bring their friends !!!! What more could we want !

Just like to say thanks and we will be back !!!!

    Disliked:

Could have been warmer .....but I know you can't manage miracles aswell !!!

Campsite was clean and well maintained.

The staff in the cycle hire shop were lovely and very helpful.

    Disliked:

On arrival there was someone else on our pitch, when we reported this to guest services I was rudely informed I had gone to the wrong pitch. I had to assure the lady several times that I had not, before she finally relented and agreed to send a warden out.

The facilities offered such as swimming pool and bar were very small for the number of guests staying on site.

We went to the children's disco with our 3 year old on Saturday evening. It was in a tiny square of space in the bar with the food service still on going, the staff were carrying plates and drinks over the children's heads which was very unsafe. The DJ also didn't play any children's songs?
Found the customer service in general unfriendly especially the take away staff who were quite rude on the Saturday evening.
