What customers say
This site offers a lovely, quiet stay with beautiful sea views and easy beach access, ideal for dogs. Guests praised the friendly staff, particularly Alex, and the cleanliness of the camping areas and showers. Facilities like the play area and the Muddy Duck were popular, although some found the clubhouse too hot. Pitching can be challenging due to hard ground, and some felt pitches were too close together, leading to noise. While many enjoyed the overall experience and plan to return, a few noted dated or unclean toilet/shower facilities and issues with Wi-Fi.

In general this was a pleasant place, beautiful location, toilets not.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The camping site location, the holiday place, the bar and restaurant, Mersea Island in general. Big wide spaces for camping and guest reception very friendly.
Disliked The toilet and shower block, one set was out of order, at potentially the most needed. The women's in particular - too small to have a whole camping site use only one set. Children tend to go in women's so the state was a disaster at times. Agree emergency can happen, but it did make me wonder whether we should return. I think this wasn't good enough.

Liked Nice quiet place to stay.
Lots of green space, beach is easily accessible.
Really dog inclusive, which is lovely.
Pool was nice and quiet though we didn't use it.
The Muddy Duck had an amazing singer in for the evening.
All the staff were kind and welcoming, but Alex absolutely shines, he is genuinely so funny and absolutely amazing at his job, he is a real credit to you
Disliked The ground was ridiculously hard to pitch a tent, definitely invest in strong pegs.
The muddy Duck could use some air con,.it's so hot in there and sadly made.people leave rather than stay for the entertainment.

Lovely.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Very quiet and pleasant stay. Just for a couple of nights. Sun was shining which helped but all in all great place, showers were lovely and clean. 9 out of 10 for me 💯. Will definitely be returning as £20 a night can't complain.

Excellent, would’ve been fav. if not as disturbed by others at night.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Facilities, view, beach & plenty of space to explore.
Disliked How close together the pitches were, smoke from someone’s fire was drifting into our tent at 1am. Could hear other people turning over in their beds and others snoring. For the size of the field it would be better to space the pitches instead of having them crammed together in the centre of the field. Maybe locate them around the perimeter?

Liked Brilliant weekend beautiful view to the sea
Disliked Only problem is loads of sharp sticks in the floor you have wear shoes on the grass and check before you lay down the tent

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely site with beautiful views and good facilities. Toilets and showers are basic but kept clean. The sea at Mersea is perfect for kayaking and fishing — a really nice spot for both.
My gate fob was left in a lockbox for late check-in, which was very convenient
Disliked We stayed here last year and had a pitch closer to the edge of the field, which was much more sheltered. This time, we noticed those pitches have been removed, and the new ones in the centre are extremely exposed. It was so windy we couldn’t even get our tent up. Not sure why the layout was changed — it made things really difficult this weekend.

Liked Beautiful place, very clean in the camping area, and very friendly caravan owners across from us. Clubhouse was nice and friendly staff. Swimming looked great although it was fully booked so we didn’t get to use it
Disliked The shower blocks and toilets we saw being cleaned but still weren’t great. Paper towels weren’t replenished
