This spacious campsite offers a peaceful, natural setting with friendly hosts. Visitors praise the clean facilities, the ability to choose any pitch, and the proximity to the coast. While some guests note the hilly terrain can make pitching tricky, many find the relaxed atmosphere and woodland surroundings idyllic. Minor issues with facility stocking have been reported, but overall feedback is highly positive.

Great vibe, just hilly!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Ability to pick your own pitch, very relaxed atmosphere and totally calm surroundings
Disliked Very hilly! If it’s busy you can be left only with a choice of slanted pitches. The facilities could use some love (missing toilet seat on one of the ladies’ and only 2 showers so can be a bit of a wait) but not anything to put you off staying

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The campsite was very quiet and close to the nature. Near Rye which is worth visiting.
Disliked We have arrived late and There were few flat pitches left. But we had a very good night.

A good option for a night or two in a field
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Ancient woodland trail immediately adjacent. Good location for Rye. Cars left in car park after unloading. Both ladies toilets clean but one missing a seat. Whilst owners not on site, replied quickly to messages and standard texts sent were helpful
Disliked It’s a large field around a tatty large barn and car park - not particularly “pretty” / interesting, no shop/cafe etc so not sociable / welcoming in that sense if you prefer somewhere with a bit of a “hub”.

Nice weekend break. Will be back.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location, quiet atmosphere.
Owners contact and update messages.
Disliked Shower layout a bit odd, ok if 2 ok you going, but one shower is off of another…
Toilet clean and tidy, but missing seat and lock not working. Easily fixable…
Not enough hooks or shelves for changing/washing

Good place to camp
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Tidy site well located , shade and environment .Relief site manager was really friendly and went around checking all were having a good camp , she dealt very quickly if any groups went to far with partying after hours to support other camper to a good experience using the site .Some pitches give forest camping experience and tree lined site reduces wind the valley benefit's from good shelter
Disliked Plumbing in toilets could be better, loo roll run out on busy times easy solution bring your own (not the worst thing and better than some other sites facilities )

We’ve been coming here for years…
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We’ve been coming here for years because we love the location. It’s close to the beach, walks and when everyone is respectful, it can be a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place to camp. Unfortunately, twice this year that wasn’t our experience, which made our stay disappointing
Disliked There doesn’t appear to be anyone managing the site on a day-to-day basis, which was surprising given that we visited on weekend and during peak season. The toilet and shower facilities were not well maintained. One toilet seat was already loose when we arrived. After one night, it had been removed ( chucked on the floor)and when it was later put back on, it had not been secured properly and was still loose. Toilet door also didn’t lock properly. The new owners seemed to visit once a day. They were away on holiday during our stay.
Unfortunately, we struggled to get a good night’s sleep on both weekends we stayed due to noise. On one night, loud music continued until around 4:30 a.m. The campsite seems much busier than in previous years and they seem to allow bigger groups. I understand this is great for business, but not if you seek a quieter camping experience. We are hesitant to return due to this. Cannot comment on how things are during week.

Beautiful campsite
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Setting was beautiful, reasonably priced and good facilities with, fire pits, wood shared fridge and clean toilet blocks. Get there early for. Flat pitch
Disliked We were unlucky and went on a weekend when some really noisy patrons were also there. Kept us up with shouting, loud music and car alarms.
