What customers say
This is a peaceful and spacious campsite, praised for its beautiful location amongst ancient woodland, with many guests enjoying the freedom to choose their own pitch. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, with communal fridges, kettles, and charging points available. While many highlight the relaxed atmosphere and friendly hosts, some mention the site is hilly, and a few recent reviews note issues with noise, particularly from larger groups.

Overall a lovely simple campsite in a nice area!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The freedom to pick your own spot.
Toilets and showers were standard but no complaints.
The ability to walk to Pett and the Royal Oak pub (recommend)
Disliked The loud group that were allowed to stay even after they were doing karaoke at 11pm

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Quiet and peaceful, decent facilities (toilets, showers, and washing up area). We camped with our baby midweek during the school holidays and was not busy. Can walk into beautiful ancient woodland straight from campsite, only a 5 mins drive to the beach.

Lovely peaceful site in beautiful setting.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Beautiful views and location. Large site so plenty of space around each tent.
Disliked Bathroom facilities fairly limited given the size of site - two ladies loos, one of which is missing a toilet seat. And shower changing area in very close proximity to one of the loos, which could be a little uncomfortable when both in use at the same time.

We loved it, we will be back
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Views, area, space.
This is a great campsite if you just want basic facilities. The toilets and showers were clean and there was handy water taps dotted around.
Can have fires and bbq (when not a drought)
Owners were easy to contact and very responsive.
Disliked Only niggle was toilet seat missing in one toilet in ladies.

If the rest of the campers are respectful it’s a lovely place to stay.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Great location. Plenty of spots to camp. Toilets and showers (although limited) were clean.
Disliked Lack of staff presence - only around once a day to clean and replace bins which meant campsite largely unregulated. We had a group of teenagers camped near us who needed regular reminding of the rules (no fires, quiet time etc). Not what I had in mind as we had left our teenagers at home!

Just a field with a few showers and toilets and access to water.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Basic, clean and no frills
Disliked Basic, clean and no fills!!!

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Chilled camp site, surrounded by woods and near to Winchelsea beach and the beautiful coast, with pubs nearby.

Great vibe, just hilly!
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Ability to pick your own pitch, very relaxed atmosphere and totally calm surroundings
Disliked Very hilly! If it’s busy you can be left only with a choice of slanted pitches. The facilities could use some love (missing toilet seat on one of the ladies’ and only 2 showers so can be a bit of a wait) but not anything to put you off staying
