  • Simple pop-up camping on a working farm near Heathfield in East Sussex
  • Half an hour’s drive to Drusilla Park and Bewl Water Aqua Park
  • Off-grid grass pitches with Sussex Diamond Way in five minutes’ walk
If you’ve always fancied a bit of a snoop around rural East Sussex, now’s your chance. Northover Farm’s off-grid camping field is close to three long-distance hiking routes, including the Sussex Diamond Way, as well as having spectacular views across the county. Based on a working livestock farm, the pop-up campsite is off-grid, so it’s time to get back to basics and settle into the rhythm of peaceful country life. Camp up on level grass pitches and wake up to the sound of birds and other wildlife – enjoy that first morning cuppa as you watch sheep and cattle grazing contentedly in surrounding fields. Simple facilities include a loo block and washing-up area in the corner of the camping field, and while dogs are welcome to join you on your break, please keep them under control near the livestock. Although the farm is in a totally rural location, it’s close to all manner of other attractions. South-coast beach resorts can be accessed within 40 minutes’ drive, and you can make trips to local vineyards, water-sports venues and National Trust destinations.
