  • Characterful glamping units on a 300-acre East Sussex estate
  • Three miles from Battle; 20 minutes' drive to south coast beaches
  • Self-contained accommodation with bathroom, kitchen and firepit
Set off for the East Sussex countryside and a stylish stay in a characterful and comfortable glamping spot that’s part of a huge 300-acre estate about three miles from Battle. The accommodation at Glamp in Style is a real one-of-a-kind offering – each unit has a truly individual personality and looks out over the gorgeous rural views. As you’ll see from the pictures of this place, the units are also packed with all sorts of little touches from pot plants to lamps – and they're well equipped with the essentials too. Bedrooms are made up with bed linen, towels are provided and each unit is fully self-contained with its own bathroom and kitchen facilities. Outside, a firepit is provided so you can stay warm while still soaking up the views or looking up into the starry skies. All in all, these unusual little boltholes make a fabulous base for a peaceful East Sussex break – the site is within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, next to a footpath that will lead you through ancient woodlands to a pub, a café or beyond to Battle. When not out walking along local trails you could be hitting the beach in Bexhill-on-Sea or Hastings, exploring historic sites like Bodiam Castle or taking the kids for days out at some of the excellent family attractions nearby.

Local attractions

The nearest town, Battle, has to be your first port of call, whether you walk there along the footpath or drive there in a little under 10 minutes. It’s most famous as the site of the Battle of Hastings, and you can now visit the Battlefield as well as stopping by at the abbey, the local history museum and the brewery. There’s more history on display at Bodiam Castle (15 minutes’ drive) or down in Hastings (20 minutes), where you can stroll through the old town and visit the castle before having a paddle on the beach. If you’d rather head straight to the seaside, try Bexhill-on-Sea (20 minutes) or the lovely dunes of Camber Sands (40 minutes). If you’ve got kids in tow, a couple of great places to bear in mind for local days out are Drusillas Park and Knockhatch Adventure Park – both are about half an hour’s drive away and have a fab range of activities plus animals to meet.
