Liked: The fact other people didn't end up next to a bunch of drunks looking to fight
Disliked: Drunks turned up at the pitch next to me, stole my chair and wanted me to fight for my chair, nobody on hand to help

Liked: We had our own field away from everyone
Scout leader, I think his name was Caleb, he was extremely helpful and sort out of campfire and gave us all relevant information
Toilets on site
Very quiet area
Disliked: Unable to park with tent had to carry all our stuff up and down the track
We was in the area surrounded by trees so there was lots of bugs and a lack of sunlight but we weren’t majorly bothered by this

Liked: Location was good ,blistering hot in the sun ,good views across greater manchester, plenty of areas to explore .
Disliked: The drive up the hill to camp is a bit narrow in places..had to wait nearly five hours for fire wood and when we got it ten pounds worth lasted just over an hour not much for your buck...the nearest shop is quite a distance away if you need something...and you have to take your rubbish home with you as there is no bins or recycling ...

In my view ideal for "wildish" camping.

Liked: Solitude. I think I was the only one on site. If you want to wild camp but don't want to risk getting found out this is the place to be. You aren't far from civilization but you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.
Disliked: Nothing. Basic and uncomplicated.

Disliked: Toilets filthy, the hot water taps were all turned off, only cold water, but it was so dirty, firewood full of nails and dangerous, but the toilets were the worst buy, it was filthy.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Is more of a wild campsite, lots of trees to give privacy between pitches and there is lots of freedom to have a fire. The owner is very quick to reply and easily contactable. Nice hot shower too.
Disliked: I had to ask the people in the pitch over from me to turn their music down in the middle of the night, in other campsites there would have been stricter 'quiet time rules' and the owner would have been around to manage it, but that is to be expected with a wilder site like this.
The toilet block could have been a tad cleaner, but perfectly useable.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: -The surrounding area was pretty, with nice walks for me and my dog.
- pot washing station (though didnt use it, so cant guarantee quality)
- There was a park there
Disliked: - Toilets inaccessible and closed off.
- car impossible to get to the campsite due to inaccessible roads.
- Campsite owner never responded to my call or message about firewood, so no fire.
- Litter around the campsite.
- pitches are on a slight hill, so stuff in the tent slowly shifts down it.
I ended up leaving the same day, which was a huge shame.

Liked: Great little site for a wild camp feel , fire pits are great and the woodland is spot on for hammocks. It was quiet when we went which is perfect . Lovely location close to some excellent walking . Amenities are basic but good depending on whether you like camping or glamping ! We will be going again for sure 👍
Disliked: Nothing , site met our needs 100%
