  • Pop-up site at a riverside farm in the Lune Valley
  • Lancaster and Ingleton Waterfalls Trail both 20 minutes' drive
  • Tearooms on site for meals and cakes; village pub five minutes' walk
The Lune Valley is a particularly choice spot for a Lancashire outdoor break. Why so? Well, it’s within the Forest of Bowland National Landscape for some scenic walks and outdoor activities… and it’s also within very easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for even more of those scenic walks and outdoor activities. This is the area that’s home to Bridge House Farm Campsite, a quiet little site on the riverbank in the village of Wray. With gorgeous scenery all around and a peaceful atmosphere on site, it’s a lovely spot for a peaceful break in this part of the world – and that’s before you’ve even noted that the village pub and community shop are only about five minutes’ walk away. You won’t need to go even that far for sustenance, though, as the campsite is next door to the Bridge House Farm tearooms, serving up breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks. You’ll be welcome to light up a barbecue on your pitch as well if you fancy a bit of outdoor cooking. This is a simple pop-up site where facilities are limited to just portable toilets and a chemical disposal point, but you’ll have plenty of space to set your kit up how you want it – there’s room for awnings, gazebos and camping chairs here. Getting to the site is fairly easy, as it’s only about 20 minutes from the M6 at Lancaster. Once you’re settled in you can start planning your outings – waterfalls, caves, mountains, gardens and forest walks all await nearby.

What customers say

This spacious, clean campsite boasts a perfect riverside location with enjoyable walks and abundant wildlife, including bats. The tearoom is a popular spot. Reviewers appreciated the live music on Saturday nights and the friendly welcome from the owner. While many would happily return, the toilet facilities, particularly the limited number of portaloos, were a recurring concern for guests.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or motorhome pitch

Liked The river location was perfect and provided nice walks and the tearoom was a favourite with us too! My son especially enjoyed the wildlife and walks down the river. The bats at night time were amazing too. We would definitely stay here again!

Disliked Toilet facilities were a little poor, but that’s the only bad thing I experienced.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or motorhome pitch

Liked A great stopover in a lovely little village. Had the whole field to ourselves until one more campervan turned up a bit later. Very spacious and right near the river. And only £20 for the night and could put up our sun canopy and outside toilet tent. Lovely little tearoom and tables by the riverside. Very welcoming and friendly hosts and the cakes were delicious!! Had a nice little walk down by the river, a circular back to the village. Local village shop selling everything you need. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Excellent!!
