  • Pop-up site at a riverside farm in the Lune Valley
  • Lancaster and Ingleton Waterfalls Trail both 20 minutes' drive
  • Tearooms on site for meals and cakes; village pub five minutes' walk
The Lune Valley is a particularly choice spot for a Lancashire outdoor break. Why so? Well, it’s within the Forest of Bowland National Landscape for some scenic walks and outdoor activities… and it’s also within very easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for even more of those scenic walks and outdoor activities. This is the area that’s home to Bridge House Farm Campsite, a quiet little site on the riverbank in the village of Wray. With gorgeous scenery all around and a peaceful atmosphere on site, it’s a lovely spot for a peaceful break in this part of the world – and that’s before you’ve even noted that the village pub and community shop are only about five minutes’ walk away. You won’t need to go even that far for sustenance, though, as the campsite is next door to the Bridge House Farm tearooms, serving up breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks. You’ll be welcome to light up a barbecue on your pitch as well if you fancy a bit of outdoor cooking. This is a simple pop-up site where facilities are limited to just portable toilets and a chemical disposal point, but you’ll have plenty of space to set your kit up how you want it – there’s room for awnings, gazebos and camping chairs here. Getting to the site is fairly easy, as it’s only about 20 minutes from the M6 at Lancaster. Once you’re settled in you can start planning your outings – waterfalls, caves, mountains, gardens and forest walks all await nearby.

What customers say

A well-maintained, quiet riverside campsite offering good value and a friendly atmosphere. Guests praise the beautiful surroundings, adjacent tea room with delicious food, and nearby pubs and village shop. While the site is basic, many highlight its peacefulness and suitability for families and dogs. Toilet facilities, limited to a portaloo, have been a recurring concern, although management is reportedly addressing this. Live music and entertainment were appreciated by some.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely quiet field right next to a little stream. Well maintained area and a nice little tea room on site selling sandwiches and drinks. There are 3 portaloos available to use but no showers or washing up areas currently. The owner came to speak to us and is looking at getting a shower and toilet facilities.
The site is set in a lovely
village with a great pub 5 min walk away. We went for food and it was really good. There is a little local store 2 mins walk away for any necessities. We will definitely visit again.

Disliked Didn’t dislike anything however did find the food/sandwiches in the tea room very expensive for what you got. There is nothing to dislike about the site.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Well maintained grounds the owner came round on the Sunday to enquire was our stay enjoyable any complaints and what could he do to improve his site I thought that was a nice touch to finish off our 2 x nights stay. George and Dragon pub down in the village has excellent food and price.

Disliked £14 each for a coronation chicken sandwich with dressing on warburtons bread in their cafe was the dearest sandwich I've ever paid for £35.80 for 2 x sandwiches and coffee's. Having said that, they had lovely cakes etc very clean and good service. A large group of people with kids and teenagers arrived had a full on disco with flashing lights to the early hours Friday otherwise my stay would of been peaceful.
