Route directions

Exit the M6 at Junction 35 and take the A601 for Carnforth. In 1 mile turn left at roundabout (35A) for Carnforth (Truckhaven on left, Pine Lake on right). In 1 mile turn right at traffic lights in centre of Carnforth, signposted Silverdale. In 1 mile turn sharp left into Sands Lane, signposted Silverdale. In 2.4 miles go over an automatic level crossing, continue for 0.3 miles to 'T' Junction. Turn right following 'Holgates' signpost. In 1 mile bear left following 'Holgates' and 'Silverdale' signposts (by bus shelter / phone box). In 0.5 mile turn right into Cove Road following 'Holgates' signpost. In 0.7 mile turn right into Holgates.

Local attractions

There is always plenty to do – walk along the coast, find a spot for a picnic, enjoy a swim in the pool or relax in the sauna. Children are safe to roam or let off steam in the games room and soft play area or the two outdoor adventure playgrounds. A small shop supplies most things you might have forgotten but there’s no need to cook - the restaurant and bar serve meals and snacks all day. With the pretty coastal village of Silverdale a 20 minute walk away, and Arnside nearby, you will never run out of things to do but if you prefer a day out, the Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland are all less than an hours' drive away.
