What customers say
This is a spacious, friendly and quiet campsite with beautiful views and a lovely local area, perfect for walks. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, including showers with hot water and toilets, though some guests noted issues with cleanliness and availability. Campfires are permitted. Some visitors experienced noise disturbances from other campers and noted a lack of staff presence on site at times. The uphill pitches and potential for mud in wet weather are also mentioned. Despite some minor drawbacks, many guests found the site to be good value and a peaceful getaway.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The pitch, being able to have multiple tents for the kids
Disliked Toilet and shower facilities totally inadequate, (one shower and toilet combined), for a field full of campers absolutely useless. Added to this they were filthy. Washing up are had 3 sinks, but only one was connected to running water!!!!!

Disliked Not a complaint at all, One group seemed to be cutting firewood that was provided by the site. It may be that they brough there own. If it was provided by the site it would be good if this was shared with all the customers.

Lovely little site with lots of activities to entertain.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We liked how it's was an open plan field with no marked out plots.
The price was very reasonable and the staff were super friendly.
Really enjoyed that campfires are allowed.
Was only a short walk into town where there are two pubs and a childs park with lots of playground apparatus.
Disliked Not the fault of the site however we had a noisy group of polish campers who were drinking and singing with a guitar until 1 o'clock in the morning until I lost my temper and shouted at them!!

Too expensive for what it is
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The toilets were clean, bins available and no litter around the site.
Disliked I’m a fan of basic camping - but for me to say there was 25 medium pitches on the field is wrong. The camp ground is on a hill, there are a few flatter (i.e. not flat) pitches but def not 25 of those.
To me, it doesn’t feel fit for purpose; it isn’t “value for money” - people could just turn up over a weekend and leave and no one would care / know. With no one on reception, no one answering text messages (I can’t use the phone to call) it isn’t a great service. I don’t think the facilities are cleaned at all on a weekend.
I wouldn’t opt to pay £20 a night to sleep on a windy hill, in an unmanned site, with no marked pitches and no lighting.
