Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: Location perfect
Disliked: It's a working farm, so expect dogs howling through the night.. we had digs with us, sonwe all slept lightly as a consequence, however no criticism of the host, it is a working farm afterall. Just the pitches are 10m from it.

Birchell’s summer house microlodge
Liked: I thought of taking my younger brother on a trip for his birthday and I'm so glad we stayed at Stybeck farm! Louisa the owner was lovely and pleasant to talk too. She always made sure we had everything we needed and offered advise and guidance. We climbed Scafell and Helvellyn and the location was perfect for both! Coming back from Scafell after poor weather it was nice to have 4 walls rather than a tent... A sweet pub called the Kings Head Inn was only a stones throw away. The summer house itself was super cosy and had all we needed! Although be sure to close the log burner tightly otherwise you'll smoke out your room. I would 100% recommend Stybeck, whether you're staying in the summerhouse or a camper van, its a great set up!

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: We used this site for an overnight stop. The site is located in beautiful scenery on a working farm where the animals wake up early! It would have been helpful if the owner had spent a few moments showing us the site rather than let us find out for ourselves. Whilst we had a pleasant stay with hindsight we would have chosen a different pitch had we been aware of it.
Disliked: We were disappointed with the washing and toileting facilities, two loos and a single shower that you needed £1 coins for. There were quite a few people in the site during our stay and access was restricted accordingly. We would recommend that these be upgraded if at all possible to bring them up to the standard of most of the other sites we used on our trip.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: We recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming campsite set on a working farm in the Lake District. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly hosts, who made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location itself is nothing short of idyllic. Surrounded by rolling hills, lush fields, and the gentle sounds of nature, it truly felt like a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The campsite is well-maintained, with clean and spacious pitches that offer plenty of privacy. The views are stunning from every angle. One of the highlights of this campsite is its farm setting. Waking up to the sight of grazing cows and the occasional bleat of a sheep added an authentic rural charm to our stay. Facilities on the site are excellent. The shower is spotless and well-equipped, with hot water available at all times. The campsite also offers walking trails that wind through the farm and beyond, providing an opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside on foot. If you're looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the simplicity of rural life, this farm campsite is a perfect choice. It's a peaceful and serene spot, ideal for couples, or solo travelers who appreciate the quiet beauty of the countryside. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be returning in the future.

Liked: We loved our mini stopover at Stybeck Farm. We went for a level pitch down the side lane. Very quiet and peaceful with some lovely short walks nearby, also very close to Helvellyn and a decent pub, what's not to like ..! Lovely and clean, working farm with friendly chucks. Lovely hosts too. Electric hookup.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: Location near to cafe, picturesque location, quiet with good walks nearby. Owner very friendly and helpful. Pitch was flat with views of the mountains. Clean toilets and 1 shower (£1 coin required). Good electric hookup and no tents.
Disliked: The cafe doesn’t serve until 10:30am unless you are staying at the lodges as part of the complex which we are not although the cafe was empty. A jobsworth type approach, so we made our own breakfast on our van. No wifi.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: Amazing location surrounded by mountains and with views across the valley. The owners were very welcoming and always happy to answer questions or just pass the time of day. Toilets were clean with a sink and mirror in each. Shower was a £1 time for around 5mins. The pitches were made of compacted gravel on three levels. The site was "full" on our second night but there was still plenty of space around each campervan. This is described as a working farm - which is fine and so I was expecting animals and farm noise. There are plenty of animals to see including several friendly farm dogs and inquisitive chickens. Using the side entrance you can leave the farm and immediately follow the footpath to the summit of Helvelyn.
Disliked: One shower for 6+ campervans was not enough on one of the mornings we stayed.
