Herdwick Hideaway camping pod
Liked: Leaving and going home!
Disliked: The place was not as advertised. We had to go off site to purchase logs and fire lighters as other than the first small sack of logs with no sticks or fire lighters left. There were no more available on a 4 night stay! Not enough towels were provided for a family of 5 staying that long. After spending all day away from the site Kevin the farmer immediately approached the pod on our return and was very angry towards a 10yr old with learning disabilities with regards to his chickens getting to his seeds, (which happened when were weren't there) that totally ruined the holiday as of day 2. (His chicken's get themselves out of their dilapidated coup without the help of a child). Then Kevin the farmer put it upon himself to tell my children the youngest 7yr old girl all about his friend being shot by a mass murderer with a sawn off shotgun just down the road. Well done for frightening the kids. Definitely not made to feel welcome.

Herdwick Hideaway camping pod
Liked: This is the first review I have ever written but generally was that impressed decided to take the time On arrival we were welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. The pods are absolutely fantastic and have loads of little extras supplied to give the homely touch. The farm really is in the wilderness so if peace and quiet is what you are after this is it to a tea. We did drive into Buttermere for a day and the drive really wasn't that bad (Around 30-40mins)At night we just sat on the outside area of the pods enjoying the scenery and were quiet often joined by peacocks and peahens. Overall a great break for us and the dogs.
Disliked: I would really struggle to find any faults but if I had to be really picky would have liked a gate in outside pod area to keep the dogs in however we just blocked the entrance off with one of the chairs provided

Liked: The hosts are great and let us watch lambing and talked to us about farming life. So many great beaches which are dog friendly. The pod is really nice and has pretty much everything you'll need. Great little park and some goal posts for the kids to play around on.
Disliked: Pillows and bedding could do with an upgrade, but apart from that and the fact we were unlucky with the weather, there wasn't really anything we disliked.

Liked: The pod was great and we enjoyed the firepit for grilling, smores and relaxing by the fire. Our daughter was excited to get to hold a baby chick and help feed the lambs. It was much more than just a place to stay.

Swaledale Shelter camping pod
Liked: We loved everything about this place. The pod was lively and clean. It had everything you would possibly need. farmer Kev took the kids on a tour of the farm and let them hold baby lambs. They collected their own eggs from the chicken coop every morning. We roasted marshmallows on the fire and sat and watched the views. And the peacocks that came to the front door and looked in were beautiful. The kids really enjoyed the playground right in front of the pod aswell. We have already been looking to go again
Disliked: Absolutely nothing
