This well-maintained campsite boasts a stunning location, ideal for hiking and exploring the Lake District. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and the well-stocked on-site shop. Liked Lovely site. We stayed here solely to walk Scafell Pike. Delighted to discover it was on the route of the Wasdale Explorer which is a bus service running during the summer on weekends and bank holidays to various places. Very handy. Lovely clean HOT showers. Good shop.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Beautiful views around the campsite and lots of different fields to choose from. Free to choose where you want to pitch which was ideal. Facilities were really good, just bog standard but all you really need for camping.
Disliked Showers were a bit temperamental, some were quite cold and didn’t stay on very long.

Brilliant place, peaceful, great views, lovely people on site.
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (large)
Liked We absolutely loved our stay here. The views were beautiful, and the size of the camping pitches was fantastic, plenty of space and privacy.
What really stood out to us was how calm and peaceful the site was. Even during the school holidays, it was incredibly quiet and relaxing, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The reception staff were some of the nicest we’ve come across on a campsite. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
The facilities were also spotless and clearly very well looked after.
We choose this site as we were walking Scarfell Pike one day, which was only a short drive away. Perfect location.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this campsite. We’ll certainly be back.
Ps/ take a walk up to viewpoint through the woodland walk, the views at the top are the best!
Disliked The only downside was that there was just one toilet/shower block for the number of people camping, on a morning it was sometimes a fight to wash your hands for the amount of people quing to use the basin.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)
Liked Church Stile was just a great place to stay. It was ideal for us been so close to Scafell Pike.
The site itself has a shop which came in handy, followed by two canny pubs just outside if you couldn't be bothered to cook.
The staff were always friendly.
The toilets were always clean, with the best showers I've used I a long time.
You can do a little walk through the woodlands and see a lovely viewpoint.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (large)
Liked First time visiting this little Gem of a campsite. Very friendly and helpful staff, site lovely and clean, tent pitched nicely spaced out. Toilet/shower block immaculate. Great location for Scafell pike and Wastwater lake. So peaceful and relaxing area. Will definitely return.
Disliked toilet/shower block was a bit of a trek in the night for the loo. Could do with a small one near to the tent field. But wasn’t a major problem.
