Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Stayed here for 3 nights in our motorhome. Good location, very clean loos and wet room. Sid (the owner) was very friendly and chatty, providing info on the locality. Just a 5 minute walk to the Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa (we splashed out for dinner for a birthday celebration). Also close to the Wildlife Park - funny to hear the gibbon (I think) in the early mornings. Good Wi-Fi too. A mile to the Lakes Distillery - for a gin tasting, shopping and lunch in the restaurant. Quiet and relaxing in the afternoon. Only saw a few other people from the neighbouring holiday statics.

Disliked: Only minor thing was the hardstanding is quite narrow (for a motorhome) so had to step out onto the grass which was a bit long so got wet feet. The grass had been reinforced so better than treading in mud!

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Beautiful little site. Great location for bus stop into Keswick. 5 camper pitches all very level and spacious Very well maintained. Sid was an absolute pleasure to chat to and keeps the site in top condition. The shower block very clean and you get your own toilet per Pitch which I’ve never seen before. Sadly it rained the whole time we were there but I’d imagine when the weather nicer sitting in the sun with the view would be stunning. I will be back if only to have a chat with Sid, thank you for making us feel really welcome. Kim, Gill, Dash and Pan x

Local attractions

For ambles around art galleries and wanders in Wordsworth House and Garden, Keswick is eight miles away. Cockermouth, on the other hand, about the same distance to the south east, is just the place for meandering through medieval and Georgian alleyways under castle walls. Or for classic Lake District outdoorsy options instead, Derwentwater's walking and cycling circuit (set aside about half a day to complete if strolling) takes half an hour to reach in the car. To break up traipsing around the tarns inland, Solway Coast Area of Natural Beauty is 40 minutes by car, while underground explores at Honister Slate Mine in Borrowdale are 45 minutes away. If you fancy staying above ground and sauntering southwards, Lake Ullswater steamer cruises are also 45 minutes from the park and Lake Windermere is the place to waterski (an hour and five minutes away from Coalbeck Caravan Park). To scale one of the region’s highest peaks, Scafell Pike takes an hour and 15 minutes to reach.
