General

  • Small and peaceful farm at the foot of the Howgill Fells
  • Remote location but only ten minutes' drive from the M6
  • In walking country and four miles from Sedbergh

How about this for handsome scenery: Howgills Hideaway on a small sheep and cattle farm near Kendal is the foot of the Howgill Fells, with views across the Lune Valley. And how should you spend your Howgills holiday time? Perhaps sitting back and relaxing – or having a brisk walk on the fab Fells on your doorstep or the Yorkshire Dales National Park all around?

Howgills is a small, secluded and peaceful site, four miles from the market town (and books) of Sedburgh and set just where Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales National Park meet. Although it's a remote location site, it's only ten minutes' drive from the M6 and 11 miles from Kendal; Penrith is easily accessible a bit further north.

Howgills Hideaway has smart and modern accommodation with well-thought out little touches and bed linen provided. Showers and toilets are on site for guests' use, and recycling is available.

Both campfires and barbecues are allowed, but using only firewood purchased on site, please.

Please note

Loved the location! The scenery! The caravan was fab, it was everything we needed for a couple of nights away. My children loved the trampoline and being able to watch the sheep and birds from the caravan.

Absolutely loved our stay. Siobhan and hubby were great and nothing was any trouble. Loved the set up of the pod and the toilet/shower block is amazing clean and well furbished. Loved the breakfast option delivered to your door in a great wicker basket and had more than enough food for the 2 of us.

Took up the option to hire a BBQ and a lovely meal was cooked and the honesty shop is a great touch.

Great location and lots of communication before we arrived to make sure we got there OK which was a lovely touch
