What customers say
This campsite boasts a stunning location, praised for its beautiful views and proximity to Wast Water, Scafell Pike, and the coast. Visitors consistently highlight the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts, Nicky and Jason. The facilities, particularly the toilets and showers, are frequently described as immaculate and well-stocked. Bell tents are noted for being well-equipped and comfortable. While some minor issues with flies and wasps were mentioned, and a few guests noted potential for boggy conditions in wet weather, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked A basic site in beautiful surroundings at really decent value for money, given the location. Nicky the site owner was friendly and welcoming, and the facilities were clean and well looked after. And a really good pub just a few minutes walk away is the icing on the cake. Would definitely book again.

Bell tent (two person)
Liked An absolute beautiful evening spent in the bell tent! The host was very accommodating and really friendly, she greeted us and made sure we knew where everything was. The bed was so comfy and just what we needed for a good night sleep before hiking scafell pike and afterwards. Everything was dry and warm even when we had a rainy evening. Even provided us with marshmallows to roast on the fire!! Every detail had been thought out! Showers and toilet facilities were spotlessly clean! 5 minutes from a lovely pub too! Will absolutely be staying here again, we stayed for a long weekend but absolutely a suitable campsite for week long camping trips!
Disliked Our zip into the tent was ripped, which meant the entrance was a little tricky to get closed initially. We were provided with some wood for the fire pit, however, we weren’t given a lot of fire light which meant we couldn’t get a good fire going. We also didn’t have working fairy lights for our outside so it meant it was very dark when we were sat outside. One of the showers didn’t have hot water which meant only one was in use, meaning a bit of a queue in the mornings. Also, for hikers awareness, if you were driving at the speed limit of 60 mph, yes it is a 10 minute drive away, however, the roads are windy and full of sheep, which means careful driving is a necessity, making it more like a 25 minute drive. Only little things but they all add to the experience!
