What customers say

This site offers excellent facilities, including a popular swimming pool, with many guests praising the friendly and helpful staff. Its location is considered ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, with nearby walking opportunities. While generally clean, some visitors noted issues with the upkeep of toilets and showers, and the predominantly gravel pitches. Some pods have received criticism for their condition and proximity to roads. Wi-Fi and pool access often incur extra charges.

Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food at the restaurant was very nice and very reasonably priced, lovely pizzas to keep the kids happy!. It had a very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for families with younger children or couples looking for a base to explore the south lakes or N.yorkshire or just wanting a chilled holiday. We visited cautley spout in sedbergh which was a 30 mins drive away. Lovely short walk (2.5 miles there and back ), beautiful scenery.

Disliked Nothing major but there was a nature reserve you could access directly off the site, unfortunately we weren’t able to visit as we had our dog with us. The information leaflet I was given at check said no dogs allowed.

Electric optional gravel touring caravan pitch

Liked Pool was nice and not too busy. Good wi-fi.

Disliked Pitch was effectively in the car park with a view of the back of the kitchen. Ground is all large gavel rocks, uneven ground and dangerous for children. Lots of vehicles turning and deliveries to the kitchen right outside the van.

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked The pod is great value for money! Electrics & a little heater was a big plus for me!
The facilities are small but great. All cosied up in one area - the little indoor play area just a great hit with my little ones. We booked with another family for their little girls 3rd birthday and asked to be allocated together. Upon check-in we realised we were not near each other, but the lady at check-in was so accommodating & managed to switch things around to put us next door to one another (big thank you for that!) The pool is simple but very clean - we had the whole pool to ourselves when we went! (it does not have a life guard) Not far from some great attractions! We’ve been to Greenlands Farm Village and to Morecambe beach for the day.

Disliked It would be great to have WiFi near the pods!

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked Swimming pool, close proximity to good walks (e.g Yorkshire dales/ lakes/ national trust locations), people who owned caravans were very friendly and respected facilities. Electricity and heating and no need to bring a tent! Most noise was stopped when door closed, wifi near reception.

Disliked Being close to people cutting through to reception, proximity to picnic tables that were used as outdoor bar seating, someone should have been picking up litter because some guests lacked etiquette,

Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked The idea of camping in the pod. Heated with electricity. A lot of rabbits in the morning running everywhere.
Ease of access from the M6.

Disliked The whole park is covered in gravel. There is literally no grass anywhere. The only grassy area was around tiny play area and had no permission to play any type of ball games. Our 2 yo children had basically nothing to do as swimming pool too deep, soft play designed for older kids, no sandpit and of course no balls allowed.

Local attractions

Travellers to this park are already in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so seeking strolls straight from the site is a cinch. Wander to Lakeland Wildlife Oasis to gaze upon the snow leopards and lemurs (about a 20-minute walk) or keep an eagle eye out for birds indigenous to the UK at RSPB Leighton Moss (five minutes’ drive) instead. Fine to travel further? It’s worth dropping by one of the famed bodies of water in the Lake District while you’re in the area: Windermere, perhaps the most well-known of the lot, is less than half an hour away by car. As this popular region has long been favoured by the aristocracy, classic country estates are all around as well: try Leighton Hall Estate (10 minutes) for a handsome house or get a glimpse of the National Trust’s stately Sizergh Castle and its grand gardens (15 minutes). Too rainy for days outdoors? Lancaster is 25 minutes away from the park for city shopping and sightseeing.
