Could be lovely if campsite was managed correctly.
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked I like a pub with campsite inc showers. I've eaten here a few times, the food is delicious and so i was excited to stay overnight. This was the first time staying over in my campervan. Id booked my pitch and id booked my table to dine that night. However, very disappointed. Not sure I'd stay again as the site is badly managed. Pitch up confirmation stated a pitch number. When I arrived 90 minutes after the start of check in which ranges from 3pm to 10pm there was a motorhome on my pre booked pitch. The vw california that arrived at the same time as me had a car parked on their pre booked pitch. We both asked the fair haired slim build chap from the wilson arms what we were supposed to do and in a very irate and aggressive tone he shouted at us stating its first come first served to avoid arguments and walked off. Not at all helpful. I would say putting a pitch number on a confirmation and asking you to adhere to that would be a route to less arguments. The car was actually staying in one of the wilson arms tin sheds so clearly hadn't been advised where he should park. It was mayhem and I wasnt relaxed in the slightest shoe horned in between 2 pitches and very close to two vans. Thankfully one wasnt using the ehu so I could. The wilson arms probably owe me £17.50 for only providing me with half a pitch. As the guy in the other campervan said. we've paid for these pitches, but it was managed like a free park up pub stopover.
Disliked Mixed sex 2 shower rooms, 1 toilet and kitchen sink in one room.
Free for all on pitch allocation
