Paddock electric grass tent or campervan pitch (large)
Liked: The pictures don’t do the views justice, even with the rain it was so gorgeous! Very clean toilet facilities and even had a games room with a pool and table tennis table. Owners were very helpful with recommending places for us to go, and showing us around the site. Wish we could’ve stayed for longer!
Disliked: No WiFi but the 4G signal was strong so this wasn’t really an issue in the end :)
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Yep 4G signal is great from the site, while we continue to push for better wifi infrastructure provision in our rural location. Good top see you got some great walking in from the campsite.

Liked: Lovely site to camp on with new modern toilets and wetrooms that were kept very clean and tidy. Nice and peaceful, owners are lovely and there if you need anything. The views are some of the best you will get. Highly recommend if you would like a quiet site with not many pitches.

Liked: Everything was amazing. The view, the sheep, the chickens, the facilities, the service. Only stayed one night but will definitely be back. A small campsite run by a lovely couple who are building something truly special. Being selfish, I’d like to keep it a secret but this couple deserve every success for what they are creating here.

From the manager: Some fantastic sunny weather for our campers finally. Please you enjoyed your stay and time in the Lake District. Thanks for the great review.

Orchard electric grass tent pitch (five person, large)
Liked: This is such a beautiful campsite with amazing views and a decent walk down to the lake. You’re surrounded by wildlife and mountains. The owners were so attentive and friendly and all the facilities were spotless and really well maintained. Each pitch comes with a fire pit too which was so fun to use. You’re also just a short drive from towns like Cockermouth and Keswick for things to do during the day. Amazing value for money!
Disliked: The only issue was that the soil under the grass was very rocky around our pitch which made getting pegs into the ground quite difficult
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thanks for the review and feedback on your experience. If you are struggling with your pegs not being strong enough, we do sell tough pegs, which are great for Lakeland ground conditions. Thanks for the review scores.

Liked: Chickens wandering the site - they were very friendly and would Come to say Hi The beautiful sheep - some If the cutest I’ve ever seen Amazing view of the lake Peaceful Fire pits with logs for sale on site Quite a small site so appeared very safe for children who seemed to love the area for playing within sight of parents
Disliked: It was a bit windy - mostly due to elevated and open position however this also ensured the gorgeous view If you needed a shop would need to drive

From the manager: Thanks for the descriptive review and for sharing this with the Pitchup camping community. All the reviews that guests leave are great at informing potential guests looking to book our site, so thanks for taking the time.
