General

  • Family-run park a mile from Oulton Park Circuit
  • Set in the countryside with views over the Cheshire plains
  • Shop on site selling locally sourced bacon, eggs and sausages

If you're off to Oulton Park Circuit to see the fast cars, you might want a speedy return to base after a long day of envy. And you'll have it at Cheshire's Elm Cottage Touring Park, which is just a mile from the circuit as well as within easy reach of other popular pulls in the area like Chester, Delamere Forest, the north Wales coast, Snowdonia, the Peak District, Liverpool, Manchester…

Elm Cottage is family owned and run, set in Cheshire countryside and surrounded by farming fields with a view across the Cheshire plains. It has an eco-friendly toilet block with free showers, constant hot water, underfloor heating, hairdryers and an easy access shower for family users or disabled guests.

There's also a big exercise area for dogs and a play area for ball games, a large selection of tourist info at reception, and a shop on site selling locally sourced bacon, eggs and sausages plus basic grocery and non-food items as well as soft drinks and locally made ice cream.

A popular pub serving good food and ales is a short distance from the site entrance and two pubs are in the local village of Little Budworth. If you fancy pizza, the Elm Cottage owners dish it up every Friday evening during the summer, freshly made in the site's new pizza oven.

Fantastic little site. Run by lovely friendly people who talk to you and are interested in you. They put on good breakfast buns. We went on our motorbikes and we're very well catered for ( not always the case). Site perfect for oulton park. There was brilliant entertainment in the evening. Friendly clean site, loads of hot water in very clean shower blocks. I can say enough about how fantastic this site is.

    Campsite set out well
Toilets and showers excellent water not as hot as I would have liked

    Disliked:

From the manager...

Thank you Sandra for the review. In the showers/sinks we do have to consider that children use these facilities so we have to ensure the water temp is suitable for everyone. We too would like the water a bit hotter but it is a compromise. Thanks for the positive feedback on the cleanliness. Regards, James. Jackie & the Elm Cottage team.

Friendly welcome and guidence on where everything was. Also checking if all ok and offer of support or help when putting tent up. Flat, level, clean and good drainage on pitch.

    Disliked:

Noise of being near main road. But as expected.
Late night noise of pub, live music. However not the campsite s fault and not expected.

From the manager...

Thanks Lindsey for the review. We have made a formal complaint through the proper council channels about the noise from the party (which was c1m northwest of our location). Hopefully something can be done. Take care and hope that hasn't put you off returning to Elm Cottage. Regards from us all.
