Pitches

General

  • Peaceful site in a rural village with views of Mow Cop folly
  • Next to a golf course and less than a 35-minute walk from Congleton
  • Pubs within a 15-minute stroll; Stoke-on-Trent a 25-minute drive

Get out on the green – or have yourself a swish time lying back and taking in views of the surrounding scenery – with ease from Astbury Motorhome Campsite, a site next to Astbury Golf Club and looking out onto the National Heritage-listed Mow Cop folly.

When you’re not honing that swing or visiting Mow Cop (less than a 10-minute drive), this is a motorhome park where you can ditch the wheels for a couple of days and work those legs instead. It’s a 35-minute walk from here to the Cheshire town of Congleton and even less of a wander to nearby pubs and restaurants (including the one at the golf club for a celebratory meal after a win).

If you’ll be cooking for yourself on a spacious pitch among the tree-lined surrounds of the park as well, get local produce from Congleton Garden Centre a five-minute stroll away or at the Glebe Farm shop less than 25 minutes’ on foot; you can cue up directions on Google Maps by using the wifi at the site office. Also accessible less than a 40-minute walk away is Astbury Mere for wandering the wildflower meadows or sailing and canoeing on the water.

If an electric hookup’s needed, suppertime is a swell time to be back on site as electricity is available for a couple of hours in the evening if requested; brown water and waste disposal is on hand as well as a fresh water supply. Gas barbecues are allowed on site, but not charcoal ones or firepits.

Free Freedom Camping Club membership is given on arrival. Please note that the site has no toilets or showers.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Bookings must not be for more than 30 consecutive nights.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

Nice location near to a country pub and golf course. Don't be put off by the close proximity to the train line as very few trains go past.

Shame there isn't electric hook up as it looks like it's all set up for you to plug in.

Easy to book on Pitch up as we arrived. Nice flat pitches with grass inbetween. Secure fencing. Very quiet setting. Friendly owner who came and greeted us and made sure we were OK. No electricity as still waiting to be connected, but all electric points available. Potable water, chemical dump, refuse collection available. Pub walking distance.

This stopover site was great. Fully met our needs. Hard standing was large and allowed us to try out the awning off the back of the Campervan. Facilities were just what we needed. Nice walk out over Astbury Golf Course. Went for a lovely walk nearby on day 2. It is by the train by got used to it really quickly and didn't even hear it through the night.
