General

  • Peaceful family campsite in Yorkshire's pretty Aire Valley
  • A quarter of an hour's drive from Skipton and Saltaire
  • Within a quarter of a mile of bus stops and a railway station

Tip Top Campsite is an excellent spot for walkers, cyclists, nature fans and families looking to explore the gorgeous Aire Valley. Located close to many of the best parts of North and West Yorkshire, including the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this riverside site is within a quarter of a mile of public transport options like a railway station and bus stop, making it easy to get out and about exploring.

River fishing is allowed in the Aire if you've got the correct licence (although landing fish on the steep bank can be difficult), and the grounds are generally a supremely peaceful place to relax. The site is full of greenery, including over 800 willow trees and a small woodland by the beck that meanders through the farm.

All of that foliage attracts wildlife, but the site is also home to domesticated animals like Kunekune pigs, geese, bees and hens that visitors are welcome to meet. Because of all the animals, please make sure that you use the designated dog exercise field if you're bringing a four-legged friend.

Steeton (a mile away) has a small supermarket, takeaway and restaurant, while the nearby village of Silsden (three quarters of a mile) has cafés, a larger supermarket and access to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath.

Please note

There is no reception on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

Please note that the shower facilities are unisex.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

Everything !! The couple who own the site are so helpful and great with the kids. we have traveled far and wide camping and this is hands down our favourite place to come. We have been before as a couple and this time I came alone with my daughter. She had the best time with the little pigs and wildlife walks. Good clean facilities and local to small town where you can get some pub grub or shopping from a local Aldi. We are already talking about coming back as a family of 4 soon and can not wait.

Everything, you can pick a space to pitch up wherever you want within the camping ground. There are toilets and showers in very well kept units. Plugs near the fridge they have for campers usage, also a sink with hot running water and toys and games free to use for the kids. They also have chimneas available for fires and bags of wood able to be purchased for £5. As this is a farm there are animals walking round freely, we met a super friendly farm dog, piglets geese. The owners even let us and the children feed the pigs. They were so welcoming and lovely. My favourite campsite so far !

    Disliked:

I didn’t dislike this but it’s something to mention, for those who like extremely rural camping this wouldn’t be the spot for them as the main road is close by and it’s just outside of the town of silsden. However don’t let the road nearby put you off the scenery and beautiful land they have is amazing.

Absolutely fantastic you were just off the main road although this quieted down for a peaceful night. Fire pits were available as was wood to buy. The owners couldn’t do enough and leant me a plug socket and charging plug to charge my phone. They are warm people who care.

Very clean and wonderful facilities. Cosy pod with electrics, tea & coffee and microwave! Lovely hosts, very funny and welcoming, let us come in to the pig pen to play with the piglets, best part of our journey.

    Disliked:

Our pod had the electric centre attached so had a huge campervan on each side blocking most of the view. Not a big issue though.
