Planning some travels that don’t rely on a car? This could well be the spot – Tip Top Campsite, on the banks of the Aire River, is within a quarter of a mile of public transport options like a railway station and bus stop, making it easy to get out and about exploring nearby places like Skipton, Ilkley and Saltaire. Not that there’s any reason to stray that far if you don’t want to. This site is in a great spot for exploring the surrounding Aire Valley on walks or bike rides – and amenities aren’t far off either. Steeton (a mile away) has a small supermarket, takeaway and restaurant, while the nearby village of Silsden (three quarters of a mile) has cafés, a larger supermarket and access to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath. Staying on site for a while may well be an option, too – river fishing is allowed in the Aire if you've got the correct licence (although landing fish on the steep bank can be difficult), and the grounds are generally a supremely peaceful place to relax. The site is full of greenery, including over 800 willow trees and a small woodland by the beck that meanders through the farm. All of that foliage attracts wildlife, but the site is also home to domesticated animals like Kunekune pigs, geese, bees and hens that visitors are welcome to meet. Because of all the animals, please make sure that you use the designated dog exercise field if you're bringing a four-legged friend. Handily, the site also has two (7kWh) electrical vehicle charging points for guests to use.

Gostou Absolutely amazing campsite! Never camped as a couple before and loved it! Facilities onsite are amazing, clean and up to date. The campsite itself is very looked after and aesthetically pleasing, we even took a visit to the little piggies onsite. They had games available, we played badminton but had other options too such as tennis. The owner was lovely and gave us a tour upon arrival and made us feel very comfortable. At night it’s peaceful, we hired a fire pit and a bag of wood for £10 which was well worth it. The lovely woman came around in the morning for payment so nothing felt rushed. They had free wifi available which had good connection. The kitchen area was great, 3 fridges, a microwave and a kettle. We stored some milk in the fridge. They have eggs available to buy from their own chickens and burgers and sausages available from their own pigs. Highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be returning over the summer!!

Gostou Large field to camp in with a free choice of where to pitch. Facilities were clean but basic. Fire pit and logs were good value vs other sites I’ve stayed at. It was also properly dry so there wasn’t loads of smoke. Easy to walk into nearby Silsden for shops etc. although very limited choices of places to eat on my visit. It would be nice if there was a food van or something on site. They were very accommodating for my motorcycle and let me park it out of the way behind the barn as I was worried about the strong wind gusts toppling it on the day I arrived. There was wifi but I had a good 5G signal so didn’t bother with it.

Não gostou Road noise is inevitable when the camp site is right next to a dual carriageway, I was expecting some noise but it was relentless right through the night. With ear plugs it didn’t really disturb my sleep, but it did make it less enjoyable just relaxing by the tent in the evening.

Gostou Recently bought our 1st midi camper and decided to test it out at Tip Top Campsite. The campsite and hosts were perfect, the absolute added bonus was the huge fields full of friendly pigs, my daughter loved it. 10/10
Also the bags of wood for £10 is huge I'd last literally all night 👌

Gostou Lovely owners who made us feel very welcome. Enjoyed talking to the man that owned the campsite about his pigs and his willow tree planting. Really well kept campsite.

Não gostou The road is a little bit noisy.

Gostou Spacious pitches, well presented and close to local amenities. Staff were present on arrival and extremely helpful. The site was clean and well equipped, easy to find and felt safe.

Não gostou Noisy, the site is located close to a busy road, there was road noise throughout the night, absolutely not a fault of the site or the owner but made sleeping very difficult.

Gostou This is a fab place and the owners are amazing. Not only is it a beautiful site and kept very clean. But the owners cater for almost every need, charging, fridges and toys in the barn too. You have to option of hiring fire pits etc, and you can buy farm goodies. We were fully intent on getting some breakfast bits, but we forgot to bring the kitchen supplies. As electric car owners we are limited on sites, but delighted at coming across Tip Top!

Gostou Scenery

Não gostou Noises from the two main roads. There was a nice walk along the river but to access we had a busy road to cross. The facilities are very basic.

Do gerente: I'm sorry you didnt enjoy your stay with us.
It is quite clear in the email we send out after recieving the booking that we dont have toilet waste disposal facility.
We are also clearly marked on the map how close we are to the road and public transport network.
I can appreciate you didnt enjoy the location but I am disappointed you marked down the cleanliness as we are proud of how we maintain the site.

Once you’ve thoroughly explored the Aire Valley, there’s plenty more for walkers and cyclists to see over in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (20 minutes’ drive), or with a meander along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (five minutes). Or, if you’d like your outdoor time to be filled in a different way, perhaps try the Silsden Golf Driving Range (two minutes). Places for a gentle stroll are plentiful, too – maybe you’d like to wander the grounds of Cliffe Castle Museum and Park (10 minutes) and the gorgeous Bolton Abbey estate (20 minutes) or take a tour through the well-preserved medieval rooms of Skipton Castle (15 minutes). The Italianate architecture of ‘model village’ Saltaire (15 minutes) makes this another lovely place for a day out. For other options, take a trip to Ilkley (15 minutes) to swim in the river and try out its foodie shops, learn about one of the nation’s favourite literary families at Brontë Parsonage Museum (20 minutes) or visit the Royal Pump Museum and have tea at Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate (40 minutes).
