What customers say
This is a peaceful, well-maintained campsite with very friendly and helpful owners. Visitors praised the clean facilities, particularly the hot showers. The location offers beautiful views and is ideal for stargazing. While some found the facilities basic, most felt they were adequate for the price. The spacious field allows for flexible pitching, making it suitable for groups and families, though a designated dishwashing area would be a welcome addition for some.

From the manager: As I feel you have just copied the previous review and were travelling together. I have just copied the response.
I am sorry you stayed on one of the worst nights I have experienced in the time I have had the campsite open.
The road is always a quiet road but for some reason the council have decided the day I open to renew pipes.
I didn't know about this and yes there is traffic lights and cars all held up and moving all together.
Hopefully this will only be for a few days.
The plains are not ever any problem. Sometimes they change a flight path and for some reason Friday night and Saturday they flew lower than usual and over the field.
The toilet block is now fully restored and working. This was due to someone putting something down it that blocked up the whole facility.
Once again I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.

From the manager: hope fully the first nights the worst night as I don't want to relive that again.
Someone had put something down the toilets and blocked everything.
This is now resolved and everything is back up and working.
To be honest we did everything we could do to resolve this on Friday night.
But when one thing goes wrong everything is so much bigger.
The facilities are separate and not sharing! And all working.
With hot showers and toilets.
I don't know who this review is from but I am sorry for the inconvenience and sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.
Horrible, far too expensive stay. Next to a very busy road.

Liked Really kind, loveable owner
Disliked Busy road at 20ft near your tent with electricity, planes to Newcastle passing over regularly, sanitary old and insufficient (and broken when we were there, shit happens). It wasn’t worth more than 15£ per night at the most.

Really nice quiet site, very friendly owner
Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Was very politely welcomed to the site. Toilets/shower basic but clean and plenty of them. Electric hookup available.
Disliked Grass was a little long which when wet made feet wet when walking to bathroom. Though not a major issue and owner did explain.

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely location, very warm welcome from owner which was nice, comes around and checks everything OK, nice toilet and shower block kept clean and tidy, plenty of space for setup, we pitched our 6 man tent with electric hook up.
Disliked Being picky here, could do with being sign posted at campsite a little better as its quite easy to miss when you come down the bank.

Lovely little campsite - great for a small group
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Calm atmosphere, beautiful views. Great for stargazing. We really loved the ability to rock up and choose a pitch. Being able to pitch multiple tents is really useful - other campsites you have to book two pitches and hope they're next door.
Check in over phone was good. Toilet block clean and very good - lots of proper toilets and two showers.
Disliked Only thing we'd want for is a space to wash up dishes with hot water, but for a short trip we just took the washing up home!
