Basic
Electric grass and gravel tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked Views. Near a reservoir. No rowdies. Pub does good food
Disliked This place was the same price a beautiful campsite we had just stayed at at Hadrians wall and didn’t measure up to those standards unfortunately. The toilet and shower facilities were very limited and basic although the actual toilet, basin, sink was very clean. No hand drying facilities so use the toilet roll to dry your hands- though this was plentiful.
Being near the rubble of the building site. (Late booking for 1 night so perhaps if you were staying longer you got a pleasant pitch)
Being charged £5 for 1 night for an extra dog as we have 2 dogs. This is close to how much a hotel charges per night for a dog (I didn’t notice much evidence of extra cleaning/tending being done for that extra charge! 😂) The price charged here was inflated for what it was but perhaps it was because it was the night before the great north run. Wouldn’t return unless this was the only option or the price was £10 cheaper and then the place would have exceeded expectations

Lovely little site
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Great location, 3rd stay for the great north run, walked to derwent water this year which was a lovely walk, good sized pitch, nice and private and pub right next door. Clean facilities and nice hot showers.
Disliked The toilet and showers are still not finished. This really does need sorting, it’s not nice stepping out of a lovely warm shower onto a concrete floor.

Fresh water , toilets clean, shower with hot water and very clean also a room with sink washing pads and liquid. So so dog friendly aswell.

Electric grass and gravel tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked Really lovely campsite. Showers and toilets are VERY clean. The owners are extremely helpful - even helped to give us a jump start when I car died!
Disliked The road is a bit noisy - we were okay, but some might not be.

A good site, brilliant views would not hesitate to stay again
Non-electric hardstanding and grass tent or motorhome pitch (large)
Liked Great site, although close to A68 we never noticed any traffic noise. The pitches were large, private and pretty level.
Disliked Men's toilet nearest to site entrance without a door lock, seen this mentioned a number of times in previous reviews. A pity the owners do not seem to look at reviews and take action on what is a very low cost repair
