Liked Stunning views.
Really friendly welcome and the owner was really helpful.
Spacious, well laid out pitches and we liked the fact that they all had a bit of privacy about them via fences and hedges.
Nice pub next door with a friendly local feel about it.
Nearby Derwent Reservoir is a must-visit.
Disliked Only constructive suggestion would be for a lock to be installed in the second gents toilet.

Liked Very friendly and helpful staff. Basic but perfectly decent facilities. Great views. Excellent pricing.
Oh and the dog walk route to the quiet road was brilliant and really thoughtful.
Disliked Nothing really, a bit of road noise but that's hardly the fault of the owners and really wasn't a problem.

Liked Views. Near a reservoir. No rowdies. Pub does good food
Disliked This place was the same price a beautiful campsite we had just stayed at at Hadrians wall and didn’t measure up to those standards unfortunately. The toilet and shower facilities were very limited and basic although the actual toilet, basin, sink was very clean. No hand drying facilities so use the toilet roll to dry your hands- though this was plentiful.
Being near the rubble of the building site. (Late booking for 1 night so perhaps if you were staying longer you got a pleasant pitch)
Being charged £5 for 1 night for an extra dog as we have 2 dogs. This is close to how much a hotel charges per night for a dog (I didn’t notice much evidence of extra cleaning/tending being done for that extra charge! 😂) The price charged here was inflated for what it was but perhaps it was because it was the night before the great north run. Wouldn’t return unless this was the only option or the price was £10 cheaper and then the place would have exceeded expectations
