Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Great site a "hidden gem" in Kielder forest , we were in pitch 1 and it was large , fitted our tag axle and smart car on it easily , nice and flat and a great view , also with a water tap next to it by the EHU
We also had the facilities lodge right next to us which was handy , and what a fantastic building this was , massive showers ! , lovely toilets as well all kept spotlessly clean , great washing up area and a laundry area , even the tabletop had been made out of a felled tree from the site and the whole place had a lovely stone paved floor , I said to my wife I could have lived in their quite happily ! ! We liked the site so much that we extended our stay ( also on pitch one you get a decent (free) WIFI signal !)
Met with Dave the owner , who was a really nice guy , spoke to him quite a lot whilst we were there and he was so welcoming , sort of person you feel you've known for years , he even let us look around and see his wonderful animals he has there , pigs , guinea fowl , ferrets , hawks etc
The site is really kept well and located just down a track which is opposite Kielder castle so it is ideal for exploring the surrounding area , great for dogs and cycling with walks and tracks straight from the site
At night it is pitch black outside , which it should be as this is inside Kielder park anyhow , it was a bit cloudy when we were there but great for stargazing , so quiet as well , had a fantastic sleep
Fantastic site and owners, we will certainly be returning
