Excellent scenic location in mature forested area

Great for access to walking and mountain bike trails around Kielder

Not too far from Kielder castle where there is a pub and bike shop nearby (1 mile walk)

A aimé The view was lovely. The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were fantastic. The shower was super hot in a gorgeous little wooden hut. A washing machine and drier available too. The pitch was good size and flat. The site is small for overnight campervans/motorhones to the point you can overhear alot of other people's business without trying. It was tarmac pitch so flat but when you sat outside to have a wine, it smelt of tarmac. Good for 1 night and move on. Beautiful setting.

A aimé Great views with lots of walking available.
Ideal for mountain biking because there are loads of trails next to it.
The shower/toilet block was immaculate with washing machine available.

N'a pas aimé Midges were a bit of a problem because of the warm damp conditions due to a wet day.
Our sat nav struggled to find the site best way is to follow the brown signs to cycle centre.

A aimé Amazing spot for a couple of nights.
Fantastic views, beautiful facilities.
Really rustic with lots of lovely little touches in the showers and toilets. Molten brown handwash and lotion. Very nice!
Great pub a 10 min walk away too.
Take midgy repellent and citronella candles for night time , as your in the forest the midges come out to play. If your prepared it's not a problem.
Highly recommend!

Yes we can get midges in the evening but that is the reason we have so many swallows, house martins and swifts during the day and bats at night.

A aimé Small park, nice and quiet with great views. Surrounded by birdsong. Lovely facilities too, so clean and spacious with everything we needed to be comfortable.

N'a pas aimé Not really a dislike, but wasn't immediately clear how to check in. We found the 'phone box with a telephone number and the Wi-Fi code, just no one there to check us in. Didn't really matter though.

A aimé Everything, very peaceful, beautiful scenery, large pitches, shower facilities and close to lots of outdoor activities. We’ve already booked to go back.

A aimé Lovely site in Kielder Forest.
Spacious pitches, overlooking the park lodges and wider forest.
Fabulous toilets, showers and washing up sinks.
Only 6 pitches so lovely and quiet.

N'a pas aimé Only the midges, but the site is in the forest, so to be expected.
Just pack some decent insect repellant!

I am afraid with the damp weather we can get midges in the evening but they are the reason we have so many swallows, housemartins and swifts then bats at night that try to keep on to of the midge population.

I find it extremely disappointing for you to make your assessment of our site if you have not even been to the site.
I do not understand why you would leave a fictitious review unless you have arrived at the wrong site.
Kielder is a remote village with basic facilities including pub, shop, observatory and bike hire all within walking distance from our site with amazing outdoor activities available in the immediate area.
We are proud to offer peace and quiet in stunning surroundings with the best dark skies in Europe with top quality facilities and large hard standing pitches as advertised on Pitch Up stating all facts of the site and surrounding area with over 200 photographs to inform you of what to expect of the site and area .
Maybe try Blackpool next time.

A aimé Brilliant location. Hardstanding pitches are massive and the shower facilities are lovely.
