  • A 95-acre woodland site a short drive from the A171
  • Easy access to the stunning Yorkshire coast, moors and Goathland
  • Two-mile nature trail with a pond and modern amenities blocks
You might be relieved this site has 'cross' in its name, as it's near the toothy town of Whitby, famed of course these days for its Goth weekends and those days for being where one Count Dracula leapt ashore to UK soil… But of course Ladycross Plantation Caravan Park has a fair bit more going on for it than that… in fact you could say that the site has a lot of bite…? It's a nifty base from which to flit to the best of North Yorkshire, for one, as it's only 400 yards off the A171 from Teeside to Whitby, and has easy access to the North York Moors National Park and Heartbeat country around Goathlands. And it's set on 95 acres of good-looking woodland, with a two-mile-long nature trail meandering through its trees and past a pond. There's also easy access for caravans and tourers. The on-site pantry shop in the reception area stocks essentials and stacks of leaflets on what to do in the surrounding area (after Whitby, natch). The park also has a book exchange service. Ladycross is run by a family team who have been improving and upgrading the park since taking it over in 2010. Among the features added are two modern and well-maintained toilet and shower blocks with private washrooms and underfloor heating, a waste and water point, and secluded areas for various pitches.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (adults only)

Liked First time staying here and received a very warm welcome. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The site itself was quiet and spotless. Shower and toilet block were extremely clean. Pitches were spacious and set in beautiful grounds. Local pubs just 25 minute walk away. Some great walks in and around the site. Would highly recommend.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (adults only)

Liked We had a lovely stay at this campsite. It was peaceful and quiet throughout our visit, with a really friendly atmosphere. The pitches were a great size with plenty of space, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful woodland walks straight from the site. A perfect spot for a relaxing break.

Disliked Wifi wasn't great where we were and mobile signal was poor.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.

As per our listing the name advises we are a plantation and as a woodland caravan park, all our pitches sit amongst trees with varying degrees of shade and sunlight. Many of our guests value this.

We do appreciate that this won't suit everyone so please take note of this prior to booking, especially if full, uninterrupted sunshine is a priority with your holiday.

Regarding mobile signal, coverage in rural and wooded areas can vary and this is out of my control.

Wi-Fi is provided via a third party supplier due to the limitations of our rural location, and as such there is a charge for its use, we do try and advise guests of this when booking and appreciate it may not meet everyone's expectations.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you're able to find a location that better matches your preferences in the future.

Thanks
Lisa

Liked N/A

Disliked Total lack of any communication from them. Five days prior to our stay, due to my wife's health issues I tried calling and leaving messages on both landline and mobile, even sending emails but never getting a response until the day of intended arrival! Would NOT consider this site ever in the future.
