Excellent site with everything we needed. Very peaceful. 21/08/2017

12 pitches fully serviced for caravans. Very clean facilities with excellent modern adjustable shower. Lovely views, very peaceful. 4 miles to great walks at Ingleton Waterfalls (£6), and the great open skies and scars above Settle. Excellent value in August. There are lots of horses in nearby fields.
Tents are in a field next door with overflow caravans. Lots of space for children to run around. Dog walk. Can pay by card. Friendly owner. Relaxed, laid back.
Lots of martins flying around. Fresh laid eggs available according to hens efforts.

    Disliked:

    No Internet.
There isn't a shop here which does not bother us but you need to come prepared as the nearest one is someway. There isn't much extra for children, not that type of site.

Location, venue, host service & closeness to various walks, landmarks/towns excellent. Wandered out for food at the The Game Cock Inn (Austwick) - fabulous, wonderful breakfast at the Ye Olde Naked Man cafe - Settle.

    Disliked:

Driving in and out of the site, grass access route(s) became very boggy & cut-up due to rain.

    Not much

    Disliked:

Everything else. Poor position with nothing near. 1.5 mile walk to nearest pub crossing very busy main road. Site not very level and pitches small. Water lying in pools all over the place. Temporary toilet block which was soaking wet. Football goal post in middle of site meant ball was bounced off our car and into tent more than once. Owner spent too much time playing on his quad bike and not enough time doing anything else. Will not be going back

Excellent location for walking and other Yorkshire Dales activities. Good facilities on the site, clean and well maintained. Lovely walk into Austwich, great pub restaurant there called the Game Cock inn, walk back with torches under the starry sky (no street lights which was lovely and a step back in time). Would definitely recommend

Local attractions

The Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent in close range are a topping location for walkers – if you're here to hike, see if you can complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to tackle the 24 miles around all three in one day.

Orcaber Caravan Camping Site is also near the famed Ingleton Waterfalls Trail for woodland-based walks among spectacular northern scenery, and within easy driving distance of the waterfalls, stalactites and tours of the spectacular White Scar Caves, the longest show cave in the UK.

Also recommended by the Orcaber team are the Settle to Carlisle railway line, through 73 miles of spectacular countryside through the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines and passing splendid Ribblehead viaduct. The limestone formation of Malham Cove, a famed Yorkshire Dales beauty spot, is also a popular local spot.

Yet more walks, hikes and heaps more spectacular scenery are at the Lake District National Park, about an hour's drive away.
