  • Holiday park in 52 acres with views to Scarborough and the North Sea
  • Scarborough 10 minutes’ drive; North Yorkshire Water Park 15 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches; clubhouse open weekends for drinks
Set in 52 acres of private grounds and woodland, Lady Edith’s Holiday Park is a peaceful spot to lay your head down for the night close to North Yorkshire’s popular coastline. At 10 minutes’ drive from Scarborough, the site has views to the North Sea on one side and the North York Moors National Park on the other. Whether you’re seeking an adventure, a quick fun-filled break or a quiet getaway just for two, there’s plenty on site to help you on your way. Keep any kids occupied in the play area – cleverly sited opposite the picnic area so you can watch them as you grill up a gourmet treat. The clubhouse on site serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and barbecue food on Friday and Saturday evenings. There's also a bar on site, open on weekends, should you fancy a pint. Four-legged companions travelling with you? There are miles of woodland trails in which to exercise them – and that’s without even leaving the holiday park.

What customers say

This is a friendly, well-maintained site with excellent facilities, including clean showers and toilets, a popular bar, and a good play area for children. Staff are consistently praised for their helpfulness and welcoming attitude. Located conveniently close to Scarborough, it's a great base for exploring the coast. Some guests noted occasional noise from other campers and shared that showers are 20p for two minutes, but overall, visitors have very positive experiences.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The owners/park staff were very friendly and the facilities were good and regularly cleaned. There was a park for the children and a peacock wandering around the site which was very cool for the kids to watch. You paid 20p for a shower and it gave you 2 mins (which does sound much but you can put more in and its all you need and it meant there was no queues for the showers/selfish using, so I thought that was very smart!) Also there was a man that came round in the morning to collect your rubbish.

Disliked This wasn't the pitch for us. Some of my dislikes may be your likes! Pitched up very close together so we felt quite closed in - other pitches I've been too, leave a patch in front of pitches to play in or have more outside space but no room for that. There was a bar and loud music but to be fair the music was facing the caravan site so we didn't hear much of it, but it meant some guest came back to their tent loudly and both nights children and adults were up shouting past midnight. Showers were a plus but the lack of temperature control is a negative cos it was too hot for my children. I rated 7 because although we wouldn't go back, that's because this may be a personal preference thing.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nice setting.

Disliked Not enough showered and toilets for the amount of people on there.
Electric cables draped over the roads and covers left on side of road
Multiple extension leads draped from unit to unit with no breakers.
Not enough fresh water points as caravans hooked up to them.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked The park has so much potential, lovely staff easy to get pitched up and nice scenery.

Disliked The lack of notice about anything happening or being open could do with improvements. The showers also run incredibly hot with no option to change temp meaning my young children resfused to wash in there unfortunately. Other than that a great stay

Local attractions

Lively Scarborough (10 minutes’ drive) has a couple of long sandy beaches divided up by a rocky headland topped by the ruins of the town’s 11th-century castle. Have a potter along the prom in South Bay, and then head over to North Bay for views of the town and seascape. Kids in tow? Make for Peasholm Park (five minutes) to hire a pedalo on the lake, play mini-golf or feed the cheeky grey squirrels with peanuts sold on site. And Scarborough’s not the only family seaside resort in the vicinity. Head to Bridlington (35 minutes) for amusement arcades, high-speed RIB cruises from the harbour and fish and chips on the prom. Filey (20 minutes) is the place for feeding chattering birds in Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park, or taking long strolls along the sweeping sandy beach. There are bracing hikes to be had along the white cliffs of Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast (35 minutes), or sections of the long-distance Cleveland Way (10 minutes). If the kids have still got too much energy after that, let them loose on the inflatable climbing course at North Yorkshire Water Park (15 minutes).
