We liked the location of the farm, close to the local shops and train station. The Safari tent was a decent size with good facilities on the site. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. Our son enjoyed the animals and the fresh free range eggs were lovely.

    Disliked:

Didn't like how the Safari tent wasn't secure at the bottom we had our dog with us and he could easily squeeze out of the bottom so we had to keep him tied up when we were inside.

From the manager...

Hi so sorry we did not respond to your feedback last year., only realised I had not acknowledged 3 reviews... must have been a long season. Sadly we have now sold our Safari Tents, although we do appreciate that when tents are secured onto decking it is difficult to fully secure, sorry that your dog found this easy access :/

Beautifully kept grounds, grass cut on a regular basis. we had an electric grass pitch and it was huge. We have a big tent and there was plenty of space. Toilets and showers were brilliant, I like the fact that each toilet and shower cubical were separate so you have plenty of room to shower and get changed without all your stuff getting wet. An inside and an outside washing up area (covered) with plenty of hot water, even has a fridge freezer so you can keep your icepacks frozen.
small site with only 6 tent pitches and a small number of caravan pitches. The owner Jo was wonderful, very friendly and helpful.

We love this farm. My children always have the best time. My daughter is forever playing with all the animals and Jo the owner even lets her help when they are putting the animals away for the night. We rented the safari tent. It was beautiful, well equipped and clean. Lots of toilets and showers to choose from and they’re all kept clean. Its close to Dalby Forest which is a must for families. Pickering itself is a lovely place and well worth a visit. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back.

    Disliked:

    Nothing, it was perfect.

From the manager...

It’s great to hear kids enjoying the very simple things in life, never a truer phase of ‘camping is character building’,
Dalby Forest is one of our favourite places to visit too, please do visit us again 🙂🙂

A small, quiet, laid back site. 4 Large shower / toilet rooms which were ample room for wheel chair user & carer (although gravel directly outside). Loved the pigs and chickens. A great room available with a tv, chess set and coffee / hot chocolate machine £1.50 a cup. Very friendly owner. In the old days, we used to dream of having our own campsite, this one brought back that longing.

Great location, easy access to local town and into the moors and hills. The safari tent was superb, comfy beds, and lovely to sit on the porch and watch all the kids having fun. The welcome we got was great, and lots of info gained from our chats. Clean, hot showers. Just a great atmosphere on this site, peaceful and relaxing and everyone quiet for bed time. Would definitely return, and recommend.

Great that you all enjoyed the Safari Tent, we agree that comfy beds and hot showers are important when your camping, and of course, good old fashioned kids ‘playing outside’ always ends with a peaceful night 😬
