Lovely small site at a very quiet location but only 5 minutes by car to Pickering. Great owners Andy and Jo made us feel very welcome. Loved the indoor arena which we could use to exercise our dogs off lead. Hot showers and plenty of space for washing up. Great base to go visiting or walking around surrounding areas. Great place to see the stars at night too!

    Disliked:

Nothing! Even the weather didn't put us off :)

That's fabulous, so pleased you enjoyed your stay - we love the arena too to exercise our own dogs., many thanks, hope you visit us again 🙂

After replacing aged camping equipment with new we were eager to test out our purchases. We selected Oak Tree from the random list of dog friendly sites for its small size and what a gem it turned out to be. The electric hook up pitches were individually fenced, very generous in size and level. The area more than accommodated our tent and larger than expected porch with space still for outside activities should the weather have been better as it turned out... the amount of wind and rain tested our purchases extensively. The 'hub' of the site accessible easily from the furthest pitches containing drinking water, washing up facilities and four individual toilets/showers were very clean despite difficult conditions and contained more personalised touches such as a spare bowl, washing up liquid etc. things lacking in larger more commercial sites. A communal fridge in the kitchen area fantastic for longer stays..... Coffee machine and 'snug' area ideal for bad weather. Dog walking areas are allocated on the site even a covered area can be used for exercising. The managers Andy and Jo really do go well beyond the usual mile for user comfort.... a very rare thing these days. Would we return... the site, the location and being so central to a most beautiful area of walks and scenery that this country can offer...... as walkers we most certainly will return combining two pleasures together what could be better!!!

How lovely, thank you so much for your kind words, especially with you been experienced campers, this means a great deal to us. We try to appeal to both couples and families and so pleased that you enjoyed your stay, been dog owners ourselves, we realise how important it is for our canine friends to be excerised and be happy. Camping can be such a wonderful experience but can be spoiled very easily. Thank you so much for recognising our efforts, we look forward to your return 🙂

Lovely site about 10 minutes drive into Pickering. We stayed in a Safari Tent. Very relaxing, compfy double bed and bunk beds for the children. log burner in tent if needed logs for sale on the site as well as fresh eggs, fire pits to Hire. Sink, hob and fridge with small freezer compartment also inside the tent. Take washing up liquid and a tea towel if you are prepared to wash up. The site also offers a breakfast service of bacon, sausage buns.
Plenty of space for children to play, also an area where children can visit the farm animals, pigs, chickens & ponies. Owners of site very friendly, helpful and kept the site very clean.

    Disliked:

To settle final bill. Only cash or bank transfer is accepted on site. Not a fault of the site more being advised on booking through Pitch.com.

From the manager...

Thanks for your feedback, it's great for our prospective customers to get information from previous guests. We have been putting off a card machine but might have to be something we consider for next season. Many thanks again 🙂

The fact that it was a small campsite with a friendly atmosphere, that the pitches were very generous.
Also liked the fact that there were good washing up and toilet facilities.
It was also good value for money.

    Disliked:

It's only a small thing but they did keep running out of paper towels.

From the manager...

Pleased you enjoyed your stay., yes the paper towels for drying your hands do keep running out as they tend to be pulled out in mass., I think the dispenser is at fault., so on next years list of improvements is an electric blow dryer! 🙂

A wonderful site, limited to a small number of tents and caravans, so it doesn't get too busy. We stayed in the safari tent which was amazing. The beds were really comfy and felt luxurious. The kitchen was well fitted out with everything you could need. We had an amazing stay. Thank you to Andy and Jo who are really friendly and made us feel welcome on our arrival. Would definitely recommend.

Relaxing, great atmosphere, clean, great facilities, friendly owners 29/08/2017

We stayed in one of the safari tents, as we're not your harden campers. What we have found with other site we've stayed at in these type of accommodation is that you are segregated from the campers which has meant that our daughter hasn't really had chance to play with other children. But here it's different, Jo and Andy have created a lovely community feeling here, and are both so friendly themselves. Andy comes round taking orders for sausage or bacon baps in the mornings (they are amazing), and one day Jo came round to take our daughter and some of the other children off to groom the ponies.

There are a couple of fields for the children to play in so they could run around to their hearts content. There are some animals for the children to see, pet, sometimes feed which was lovely as most children love this, and the first thing our daughter asked in the morning was can we see the animals.

One of the best things here is that they don't tray and cram as many people in as possible, there was definitely room to add more people but it would have been cramped and Jo and Andy seem to prefer people to be happy than make an extra few quid.

The showers were great, never really had to queue and they were always hot.

I can't praise Jo and Andy enough for this camp site, you can see the amount of love and hard work they put into it and it really reflects in the atmosphere.

    Disliked:

It rained one day, no ones fault but we didn't like that. There was nothing to dislike about the campsite at all

From the manager...

We are over the moon you and your family enjoyed your stay with us., and really appreciate your kind words. We do pride ourselves in not overcrowding and providing that personal service., which we are sure contributes to the overall feel of the site. The animals are a firm favourite with the children & adults and we welcome that as this encourages customers all looking for the same type of holiday, small, but we like to think, perfectly formed, however always room for improvement therefore we listen to our customers carefully in order to make happy holidays.
