We arrived later than expected due to Friday night traffic, But that didn’t matter as Jo was there ready to greet us and show us to our generous sized pitch, (no worrying about the late comers getting a bad spot or having to squeeze between other campers here).

Oak Tree Farm is a beautiful small site with very well kept facilities. Just off a quite rural road two miles from the bustling and vibrant market town of Pickering, we were blessed with peace and quiet for the grown ups to relax and lots of open spaces and farm animals for my daughters to explore and make new friends.

On Saturday Morning our friendly host Jo came around the campsite for a chat with us and all her guests, making sure that our stay was as pleasant as possible and offering any advise we might require, she then took my girls to help her with grooming the ponies, it was one of the highlight of a very enjoyable weekend, they are still talking about Alan the horse today.

In brief an excellent site, with superb facilities and a host who cares about her site and the guests who frequent it.

    Disliked:

Nothing - but if they had of been i feel confident that Jo would of done her upmost to rectify it.

Jo is a wonderful host, always happy to offer advice or just have a chat. She was lovely with our children, really keen to get them involved with caring for the animals. Facilities are great, campsite isn’t crowded due to Jo’s policy to limit numbers which really enhances the experience, even though more tents and caravans could be accommodated. Overall a fabulous spot, we’re definitely coming back.

This is an excellent site. The pitches are very spacious. We had the field to ourselves for some of the week which was great. But even when other campers arrived for the busy bank holiday weekend there was still lots of space between each tent. Jo the owner was very friendly and helpful. The animals were lovely too. Especially Alan the horse who got an early morning stroke each day on our way to the loo. The campsite is in a good location for Scarborough,Whitby and the moors.
My partner and I both agreed that oak tree farm is one of the best campsites we have stayed on. We can't wait to return

Trains run daily from the beginning of April to the end of October.

From Grosmont, flit to the seaside resort of gothtastic Whitby for Whitby Abbey, sailing, surfing and diving, the Whitby Regatta and award-winning fish and chips at the Magpie Café.

Dalby Forest is within a ten-minute drive of Oak Tree Farm Park and is filled with activities like paintballing, adventure courses, walking and cycling routes, and treetop adventuring at Go Ape. There's also a visitor centre with stacks of organised events and activities, and plenty of picnic areas for forest-based food.

Also locally, markets selling local produce of high quality are in Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley and Malton.
