Park Rose Caravans: Sun rise (photo added by visitor on 19/10/2020)

General

  • Small family-run holiday park in a Carnaby activity centre
  • Three miles from Bridlington
  • Play areas, F1 racing track and café serving meals and Sunday roasts

Park yourself here for a bunch of fun: Park Rose Caravans is in Park Rose Village, an activity and adventure centre in Carnaby, three miles from the seaside town of Bridlington.

Bloomers of all ages have activities aplenty to ramble to: kids can roam around the outdoor mini town with school and mini jail for mini miscreants, while bigger folk are welcome to have a go at the F1 Racing Track which has a circuit for budding drivers to zoom around.

But the kids will probably be most eagle-eyed at the on-site Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park, an award-winning centre with birds of prey including owls and falcons as well as other favourites like meerkats and alpacas. There are activities throughout the season including flying displays, falconry classes, small animal holding and donkey rides; you'll probably reckon the pig racing is a right hoot too… (Please note that the centre is owned and managed independently from the site and that there are admission charges.)

Having a lie in after all that? The Park Rose café serves breakfast all day, and also has homemade cakes and scones, lunches and dinners, and succulent Sunday roasts. So everything should come up roses…

A shower block is also available, and the site has a large covered central area for barbecues and cooking. The area is well lit and enclosed, making it a great spot for the kids to play.

Please note

Group bookings of 5 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Single-sex bookings of 5 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Reception is unmanned after 4 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.

When arriving, please check in at the café.

Shower tokens are only sold at the café: one token (50p) gives five minutes of hot water.

Campers with touring units are asked to use their own shower/toilet facilities wherever possible.

Very good site for families01/10/2023

  • Liked:

It was really nice, clean and had lots of amenities. We had a wooden pod and it was really good with electricity points, night lights and even a kettle with brew making facilities. The bathroom was a short walk away and very beautiful. On site is a cafe which is only open until 3 Ish and pound stretcher which is open until 5/6. There's also a lovely animal park that you pay extra for but it was worth it for me.

    Disliked:

My only issue was the lack of staff after 3pm and before 10am, we had a few issues we could have used help with but after 3pm it was like a ghost town (might be 3.30pm)

On arrival dog poo was on our pitch.
    Toilets were in condition.
You had to pay to use the shower.
There was a massive pound stretcher on site but still unable to buy little bits like bread and eggs.
The park for the kids was sad.
Dogs running around off the lead.

Clean, family friendly with bridlington animal park, a cafe and a pound stretcher on site. Loved our stay
Only thing I'd recommend is more items on the park as theres literally one swing and some empty huts (perhaps some furniture for the huts).

  • Liked:

The pod was cute, our 2 & 6 year old loved it. The animal park being on the door step was such a sweet thing to wake up to on our 6 Yr olds birthday.

Can not fault the cleanliness of the pod and the washrooms.

Overall, a nice place and it is close to all the goodie Brid has to offer.

    Disliked:

Only 3 niggles were; on our stay we were blessed with no hot water, which wasn't too bad for a 2 night stay, but it was still missed.

The fact the cafe's opening times were really short (10-3 if I'm remembering rightly). It would have been nice to grab an early coffee when our young ones were up even earlier then normal.

Finally, the kids park was lacking with just one swing for the place and no other park equipment.

Great price and we really enjoyed our stay. The pods were brilliant and suited our family's needs.

    Disliked:

The staff weren't really present so if you had a concern then I wouldn't have known who to contact. The shared shower facilities could have done with cleaning more often but that's only if I had to be picky

The weather couldnt fault it warm sun almost every day. Got phoned to advise were our pitch would be as we got there late. We were allowed to pay our balance in instalments due to unforseen circumstances just before the holiday which was so helpful of the site. I don't think anyone else would allow that.

    Disliked:

Says on the internet that showers are 50p when you get there they are £1 a shower for five min which is timed. Literally cost us loads for three of us. Getting told by long stay oaps in caravans we have to park the whole van on the concrete then watching them park on the grass and shout and scream byeeee at half 12 am and reving car engines despite it saying on the gate quiet after half9. I did complain about this before we left on Sunday but wastold the owner is not here today.these long term caravaners shouldn't be allowed to just do what they want and holiday visitors given a different set of rules as we were quiet every night. We actually have respect for others clearly these oaps don't .

Local attractions

Go coastwards to Bridlington and its Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve with over 200,000 chattering seabirds or have a more serene time sampling the town’s famous shellfish; get gothic in Whitby or amuse yourself at the funfair in Filey, where there’s another bird garden and animal park if the one at Park Rose has given the kids the beasties bug.

For beachcombers, the main beach at Bridlington also has a land train, the Bridlington Eye and waxworks at the Beside The Seaside Experience Museum; the quieter Fraisthorpe Beach, to the south of Bridlington, is dog-friendly all year round.

Head inland from here for the North York Moors, one of the biggest stretches of heather moorland in the country: explore by bike, on foot or from the North York Moors Railway which puffs through 18 miles of spectacular scenery.

For kid-friendly fare, Bridlington and the surrounding areas are well-placed for family days out, with beaches, play centres and farms among more; take a trip to Dalby Forest for the day for some orienteering or swinging among the trees at Go Ape. Theme parks in the area include the knuckle-clenching rides and extensive zoo at Malton’s Flamingo Land, swashbuckling and raptor attacks at Ripon’s Lightwater Valley, and more birds of prey at Thirsk’s Sion Hill Hall.
