  • Quiet, relaxed site on 35 acres of land with a private 15-acre lake
  • A 20-minute drive to the Yorkshire coast and half an hour to Hull
  • Pizzeria, fishing (additional fee) and a bar with an outdoor terrace
Get to Greengrass Park for a peaceful break in the East Yorkshire countryside – this static holiday home and touring caravan site has noise and safety policies in place to keep its ambience serene. The quiet vibes mean that it’s a calm setting for a spot of fishing at the 15-acre private lake; fishing is for an additional fee, so make sure to arrange it at the reception upon arrival. Non-anglers, meanwhile, can sprawl out in a grassy area for a bit of a chillout session or make a beeline for nearby coastal towns like Hornsea (20 minutes’ drive) and Bridlington (half an hour). Heading to Hull (30 minutes) for the shopping, museums and aquarium also comes much recommended. Pick up essentials in Brandesburton and Leven, a couple of villages around three miles away with supermarkets, a butcher and a deli. For meals, your options include a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, an award-winning fish ‘n’ chip shop and friendly pubs. Not that you’ll need to go far for food: the site has a restaurant and pizzeria as well as a pub serving ales, draught beers, spirits and wines with an open-air terrace looking out across the lake.

The on-site bar and restaurant are noted for good, reasonably priced food. Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked How peaceful the site is , we always choose lake view. It’s just stunning. It’s our 3rd time back and will definitely be returning again. We all love it here. I forgot to take milk with us but reception to the rescue. They had some milk for sale amongst other everyday items than you can purchase at reception. This saved us having to pack up and go to a shop. Once we pitch up that’s us for the stay so this was a life saver for us. Every time we go to this site there is always improvements and changes, it’s great to see. We had to be recovered and the recovery service had a mix up and it ended up with us overstaying check out time. The reception team were very understanding and this took the pressure off us as we were just waiting to be recovered.
Thank you for a great and welcoming stay, see you all again soon.

Disliked Would have loved the pub to be open with it being half term and then we would have eaten and had afew drinks out.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review and for choosing to stay with us again — it truly means a lot to hear that this was your third visit! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the peace and stunning lake views, and that our little reception shop came in handy when you needed the essentials. It’s great to know the ongoing improvements around the site are being noticed and appreciated too.

We’re also really glad our team could support you during the recovery mix-up — situations like that can be stressful, so we're pleased we could make things a little easier for you.

Thank you for the feedback regarding the pub. We completely understand how nice it is to be able to relax with food and drinks on-site, especially during half term. We’ll be sure to pass this on to the relevant team as we continue to develop our guest experience.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon for another peaceful stay by the lake!

Warmest wishes,
Shauna (Reception)

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked How clean everywhere was, they had toilets almost everywhere which was great, we were on a grass pitch with great access to the exit, toilets and some bins but it did get a bit noisy from the road behind. Our neighbours were friendly and upon arriving so were the staff had a bit of difficulty getting there and they didnt mind we had arrived a day later than expected which was nice.Had a fishing spot which my husband loved but none were biting unfortunately. Id say if you wanted to go anywhere you're looking at about a 10 minute drive but we'll worth it for some things to do! Had a great onsite park but was a bit of a walk to get to it. There's also what seems to be a pub on site but did look a bit dead but I think it might have just been the season!

Disliked Fish weren't really biting and unfortunately one of the residents we think with a white and blue boat who had been watching us fish got on his boat and looked like he deliberately went into the line we were fishing on, snapping the line and almost breaking the rod. No apology from him or anything he was from across the way so had no reason to be on our side either. There was a rude lady who was a bit assy that I had drove close to where we were fishing to load up. We weren't blocking anyone and was considerate of others. Only there for 5 minutes at most whilst we got everything in the car. The showers were a bit far from the touring pitch, Husband dared it one night but said there wasn't even one light or direction that showed him where to go. We were briefly told at the start but not really much guidance after that. Just so you know your signal isn't the greatest and only certain spots you can get it but thats not to stop anyone from going just might be a bad thing for some.

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re really pleased to hear that you found the site clean and well-equipped with facilities, and that our team made you feel welcome on arrival — even with the change in travel plans. It’s great to know your husband enjoyed the fishing spot, and that you appreciated the location and the friendly atmosphere on site.

We’re sorry to hear about the disappointing fishing luck and especially the unfortunate incident with another customer on the water. That’s not the experience we want for our guests. If anything like this ever happens again, please do let us know at reception so we can address it right away.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding access to facilities, signage to the showers, and mobile signal. We're continuously improving our guest experience, and comments like yours help us prioritise what matters most. We're glad you enjoyed the park, and we'll take note about the walk and the seasonal quietness around the pub area too.

Thank you again for your constructive feedback and for staying with us. We hope the positive parts of your stay encourage you to visit again — we’d love to welcome you back and provide an even smoother and more enjoyable visit next time.

Liked Nice view of the lake

Disliked Not many facilities and there was a karaoke till midnight on the Sunday night we couldn't sleep as we were right next to it.

From the manager: Thank you for your message and for sharing your feedback. I just wanted to mention that we don’t host karaoke on Sundays. I’m really sorry to hear that you struggled to get some sleep — that must have been frustrating.

As for the facilities, everything included at Greengrass Park is clearly listed before booking. We’re only a small, peaceful site situated in the countryside, and we do our best to provide a relaxing environment for all our guests.

Liked Level pitch, clean amenities, dogs welcome even in the clubhouse and restaurant.
The young lady on reception upon arrival was so helpful and friendly (sorry I cannot remember her name), this was our first outing in our motorhome and she explained how everything worked.
Breakfast was lovely, bar and kitchen staff were all welcoming, chatty and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.

It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed your breakfast and that our bar and kitchen staff helped create such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for you (and your dog too!).

We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

Liked Nothing but price

Disliked No space, only two pegs for fishing. Not sure if any fish apart from tiddlers Kids kicked out in the morning and left to constantly bother anglers when all you want is peace. Do not want to babysit other peoples children or grandkids. Defo no carp. Used sonar. Makes out its for anglers, this is not the case for MH /Tourers. Please avoid if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your visit didn’t meet your expectations.

To clarify, our lake is stocked with a variety of species including catfish, tench, roach, bream, perch, eels, carp and pike. While fishing is available as an additional option for our customers, we don’t advertise our park specifically as an angling destination to the public, and so fishing facilities are more limited compared to dedicated fisheries.

Our park is first and foremost a family-friendly site, and we do all we can to ensure children are able to enjoy themselves during their stay. If at any time you felt other guests’ children were causing a nuisance, did you notify reception? We are always happy to address concerns at the time to ensure everyone has the most enjoyable experience possible.

We value all feedback and will continue working hard to provide a welcoming and enjoyable environment for both families and guests who choose to make use of the lake.

Liked The pitch size. The location. The staff. The people. It’s a hidden gem. We loved it.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the pitch, location, and the warm atmosphere here – it means a lot to us that you consider our park a “hidden gem.”

We also really appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the trees, and we’ll certainly take this on board as we continue to maintain and improve the site.

It’s wonderful to know you found the team exceptional, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (lake view)

Liked Very friendly

Disliked We booked a riverside pitch so we could do some fishing. But we was looking at reeds so had yo ask the people next to us of it was ok to fish in front of there van. In the description of the fishing. They forgot to say they is a bus /caravan and other things sunken in the lake and I don't no how many times we had to set up time and time again. So for me it was not the best place for fishing.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the fishing experience did not meet your expectations. While our riverside pitches are popular with guests who enjoy being close to the water, we understand it can be frustrating when reeds limit access in certain areas.

Our lake is stocked with a mixture of species including catfish, tench, roach, bream, perch, eels, carp, and pike. However, we don’t advertise ourselves as a specialist angling site – fishing is an additional option we provide for our guests rather than the main focus of the park.

We do appreciate your comments about access and obstructions in the water, and this will be reviewed as part of our ongoing site maintenance. Our aim is to provide a relaxing, family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy, and your feedback helps us improve.

We hope you were still able to enjoy the peace and surroundings of the park overall, and we’d be happy to welcome you back in the future.

Local attractions

Browse Beverley’s traditional market on a Saturday or swing by this town at any time to take in the Gothic minster and catch the horses hightailing it around the racecourse (20 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth setting off towards Skirlington Leisure Park for the famed car boot sale held on Sundays (outside of January) and to stroll through 70 acres of landscaped countryside leading down to the East Yorkshire coast. Further north (around an hour) is the edge of the North York Moors National Park, where rural police show Heartbeat was filmed, and the location of well-known seaside towns such as Scarborough and Whitby (an hour and an hour and a half, respectively). Spend time on the former's sandy beaches before roaming the ruined Gothic abbey – the inspiration for the novel Dracula – in the latter. Another famed urban settlement not to miss is the ancient city of York (an hour and 10 minutes) with its cobbled streets, Viking history and clutch of excellent independent boutiques. Walk along ancient walls circling the buildings, poke around a 13th-century Gothic cathedral with medieval stained glass and bell towers, then meander to the Monk Bar gate for an exhibition on the infamous King Richard III.
