  • Quiet, relaxed site on 35 acres of land with a private 15-acre lake
  • A 20-minute drive to the Yorkshire coast and half an hour to Hull
  • Pizzeria, fishing (additional fee) and a bar with an outdoor terrace
Get to Greengrass Park for a peaceful break in the East Yorkshire countryside – this static holiday home and touring caravan site has noise and safety policies in place to keep its ambience serene. The quiet vibes mean that it’s a calm setting for a spot of fishing at the 15-acre private lake; fishing is for an additional fee, so make sure to arrange it at the reception upon arrival. Non-anglers, meanwhile, can sprawl out in a grassy area for a bit of a chillout session or make a beeline for nearby coastal towns like Hornsea (20 minutes’ drive) and Bridlington (half an hour). Heading to Hull (30 minutes) for the shopping, museums and aquarium also comes much recommended. Pick up essentials in Brandesburton and Leven, a couple of villages around three miles away with supermarkets, a butcher and a deli. For meals, your options include a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, an award-winning fish ‘n’ chip shop and friendly pubs. Not that you’ll need to go far for food: the site has a restaurant and pizzeria as well as a pub serving ales, draught beers, spirits and wines with an open-air terrace looking out across the lake.

What customers say

Guests love the tranquil vibe & lakeside spots, plus the staff's helpfulness. The bar/restaurant is a hit for value. However, facilities are dated and Wi-Fi/mobile signal is spotty. Still, most found it a relaxing escape and would return.

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite (lake view)

Liked Lovely peaceful place, ideal to relax, to get away from daily rush, facilities are very good, better than expected after reading recent reviews, staff very kind and welcomed us and very helpful from the beginning. Great to families with children and also for adults. My husband did enjoy fishing, caught 4x big breams! No problem with phone reception. Thank you for having us! Definitely we would come back if not 6h way from Bonny Scotland! But saved on our camping list!

Disliked The only disadvantage is no place to walk with dog nearby, all fields are private, close to quite busy street with no path way at sides.

Liked We had a lovely time, such a nice welcome. Tina in reception she is lovely nothing was too much trouble, she Showed us to pitch. Number 4. The pond is lovely looking and so quiet. Seems to a attract lovely friendly caravanners. Didn't realise you could swim and use boats on lake. Has lots of rules to keep people safe.
Charlies bar is so friendly and seem to have nice food. Lovely place to just chill if that what you need.

Disliked Fishing was not the best. OK if you only like skimmers. But somebody did say the level of water was low so not good fishing at the moment. £10 for day. Dont do half a day or concessions.
Such a shame that they don't cut things back so you see the lake. 1,2,3 is fine you pay for extra for lake side and can't see or fish on pitch 4.
It's miles away from anywhere. Take what you need with you.
Should imagine it's lively with kids at weekend. This was mid week and kids holidays. 3 girls was making themselves quite a nuisance with noise and swearing. But did disappear when I asked them to be a little quieter as scaring fish away.

Liked Peaceful, friendly - had food one night which was very nice, party night too with DJ - really enjoyed the stay (2nights)

Disliked Nothing to dislike - cannot comment on toilet:shower block as we had our own on-board! Alittle work needed around bar area (they said that was next on their to-do-list)… as with everywhere at moment - just funding etc etc - did not bother us at all - would defo come again

Liked We had pitch No1 which was fab. Right next to the lake, close to showers toilets and Charlie's Bar, the lady who worked the bar was lovely, very friendly and helpful too. We only ordered the chips and they were lovely.

Local attractions

Browse Beverley’s traditional market on a Saturday or swing by this town at any time to take in the Gothic minster and catch the horses hightailing it around the racecourse (20 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth setting off towards Skirlington Leisure Park for the famed car boot sale held on Sundays (outside of January) and to stroll through 70 acres of landscaped countryside leading down to the East Yorkshire coast. Further north (around an hour) is the edge of the North York Moors National Park, where rural police show Heartbeat was filmed, and the location of well-known seaside towns such as Scarborough and Whitby (an hour and an hour and a half, respectively). Spend time on the former's sandy beaches before roaming the ruined Gothic abbey – the inspiration for the novel Dracula – in the latter. Another famed urban settlement not to miss is the ancient city of York (an hour and 10 minutes) with its cobbled streets, Viking history and clutch of excellent independent boutiques. Walk along ancient walls circling the buildings, poke around a 13th-century Gothic cathedral with medieval stained glass and bell towers, then meander to the Monk Bar gate for an exhibition on the infamous King Richard III.
