  • Adults-only site on 12 acres of peaceful Suffolk farmland
  • Woodbridge 10 minutes' drive; 20 minutes to Ipswich or Sutton Hoo
  • Dogs welcome; pubs and River Deben beach within walking distance
With easy access from the A12 and A14 plus 12 acres of peaceful natural land to its name, Low Farm Campsite is an excellent spot for an easy escape in a splendid Suffolk setting. This lovely location is part of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape, and the owners of the site are doing their bit to preserve the local landscapes by returning their farmland to nature. As part of that approach, the guest areas have been designed to site nicely in the natural setting, with plenty of space so that you’ll never feel crammed in even if the place is full. The idea here is to create peaceful, simple experiences, and with that in mind the owners have set the place up as an adults-only site with just the essential facilities – guests have access to toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re kept on a leash on site – the area’s footpaths and open spaces mean you shouldn’t struggle to find a place for a good walk (whether you’ve got a dog or not). You’re allowed to set up a barbecue here if you’d like to do some outdoor cookery, but there are also a couple of pubs within walking distance serving up good food for those times when you don’t feel like it. Also within easy walking distance is a river beach on the River Deben, with boat trips available. Woodbridge (10 minutes’ drive) and Ipswich (20 minutes) are also close by for shops and places to eat.

What customers say

This adult-only campsite is highly praised for its peaceful atmosphere, spacious and private pitches, and immaculately clean facilities, including showers and toilets. Guests appreciate the natural surroundings, excellent location for local walks to pubs and the river, and the option for wild camping. While minor points like limited showers or lack of WiFi were noted by some, the overwhelming feedback is positive, with many expressing a strong desire to return. The friendly and helpful owners also contribute to a welcoming experience.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Loved this site, basic but everything we needed. Immaculately clean toilets and showers.

Disliked Seemed to be a bit of traffic noise from somewhere nearby but couldn't work out from where as not near a main road.

Wildlife non-electric grass pitch

Liked Everything. I just loved the wildlife area - spacious, the trees and thickets and blackberries and wild plums.
Inspired place.
Even with lots of people it was quiet.
I loved being so close to the river.

Disliked Nothing about the campsite.
A bit hilly for cycling in the area. Doable but hard work at times.
But as ever - utterly beautiful Suffolk.

Wildlife non-electric grass pitch

Liked Everything! This is a lovely quiet, adults only site, with a relaxed feel. If you don’t want electric hook up you can park anywhere in the wildlife area, which has trees, hedging and little pockets you can tuck away in. There are some lovely walks on the doorstep, including along the River Deben, and good country pubs easily incorporated for a refresher along the way. The facilities were very clean, as was the entire site.

Disliked Nothing!

Liked Perfect, really quiet, spotless toilet and shower block. Plenty of hot water. The Maybush Pub about a mile away. Friendly staff on reception too. We went in a Tent box and it was our first trip. Will definitely be back.

Electric grass pitch

Liked This is great site for all types of camping. I stayed for 5 nights. There was a bit of a mix up about my booking (I was in the right place at the right time) but there was plenty of space. The toilet and shower facilities are simple but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. When I had a leak in my roof window, the warden kindly lent me a ladder so I could deal with it. There's a very good pub, with good food, in the village, on the riverside but no shop that I could find. There a big retail park a few miles up the A12 at Martlesham. There are some great walks from the site to and along the river.

Disliked The grey water disposal point is entirely inadequate for the typical caravan wastemaster. One flush with the ground should be provided as I struggled to lift and position my tank of 40+ kg up onto the thing they've got. There should be more recycling bins as it was overflowing.

Wildlife non-electric grass pitch

Liked Wildlife meadow- lovely environment to hide away in, you need not be in full view of everyone else. The grass was well kept and the shrubs, trees and hedges were managed in a natural, wild looking way.

Disliked Not a dislike but an observation, a worktop area around the basins in the toilets would be useful.
